City Council Minutes 1945 11-05-45 Yorkville, Illinois November 5, 1945 The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois was held in the Village Hall of said Village on November 5, 1945 and was called to order by President Barkley at 7:30 O' clock P.I . Finding present on roll call were President Barkley, Trustees Hunsonjlarshall,Zeiter and Clerk Ament. Absent: Trustees Loomis,Schulter,Schumacher. Minutes of the regular meeting held October 1, 1945 were read and so ordered approved. The regular monthly report of the Clerk was read and so ordered approved. A resolution in regard to the construction of a new post office building For the Village of Yorkville was read and on motion by Trustee Munson seconded by Trustee Zeiter the said resolution be passed and adopted. Carried and so ordered. (See following page) A communication from Mrs. Burks, Secty of the W.S.C .S. of the Yorkville M.E. Church was read and directed filed. On motion the meeting was adjourned. F. Clerk President f POST OFFICE RESOLUTION 11/5/45 "WHEREAS, Yorkville, Illinois, is the county seat of Kendall Bounty, Illinois, and its Postoffice serves not only the villages of Yorkville and Bristolry Illinoisy but there are two rural route deliveries made from said Postoffice, and WHEREAS, on July 1, 1943, said Postoffice wbs changed from a Third Class rating to a Second Class by the U. S. Government which reflects the volume of business handled by said Postoffice, and WBE;REAS, in our opinion the present rented Postoffice quarters are inadequate to properly serve the citizens of this community and that a new Postoffice Building erected 'and equipped by the U. S. Government would be benee�icial not only to our citizens but to our Government as well and is urgently needed, 'N6W THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that tie, the President and Board of Trustees of the V'il.lage4 of Yorkville, Illinois, in. regular meeting assembled., do ro+ pectful y petition the Government of the United States to immediately co struct or cause to be constructed. in Yorkville, Illinois, a new Postoffice Building to adequately serve the needs of the citizens of this co unity and that it be such a building as shall be truly representative of our Government, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable Noah M. Masono, i they U. S. Congressman from our district; to the Ho orable Emily Taft Douglas, `this► Illinois Congresswoman at Large; to the Honorable Scott V,. Lucas, U. S.
