City Council Minutes 1950 07-03-50 Yorkville,Illinois July 3, 1950 The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of s Trustees of the Village of Yorkville,Kendall County,Illinois was held at the Village Hall of said Village on Monday July 3, N 1950 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Finding present on roll call were Trustees Loomis,Windett, Price,Horton,Hughes and Clerk Ament. Absent: President Renfro and Trustee Leifheit. President Renfro being absent, Trustee Windett moved that James Price be chosen to act as President Pro.Tem for this if meeting. The motion was seconded by Trustee Hughes and all Trustees present voting aye, Trustee Price was elected President ., Pro.Tem for this meeting. Minutes of the regular meeting held June 5, 1950 were read " and so ordered approved. The regular monthly reports of the Clerk, Chief of Police and Police Magistrate were read and so ordered approved. Renfro as President of the Beard of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville was read and on motion by Trustee Loomis , seconded by Trustee Windett that the resignation of H.A. Renfro be accepted. Morganegg but it was agreed that the matter be held over to July 17, 1950 in order that more bids be obtained. `) In the matter of the stop sign ordinance - no report. ] Chairman Trustee Loomis/of the committee appointed to investigate and consider changes in the liquor ordinance reported that it �i was the recommendation of his committee that the taverns be allowed to open at 7:00 A.M. and ®lose at 12:00 midnight , Monday thru and including Saturday and remain closed on Sunday. On motion by Trustee Loomis, seconded by Trustee Horton thall the report of the committe appointed to consider changes in the i liquor ordinance be accepted and that the Board concurx with their recommehdation. I! Carried and so orddred. (� The matter of a new truck for the Village was discussed an it was agreed that the Street and Alley Committee and Water ; i' Committee ask for bids for a new truck. President Pro Tem. Price directed that the Street and Alley Committee and Chief of Police investigate the possibility it of erecting speed limit signs and to confer with the Village i of Bristol in the matter. a Is 9 �I �i Yorkville,Illinois July 3, 1950 A communication from E.L. Campbell was read regarding thankir the State Highway Department for the action in placing 4 way sto signs atthe intersecion of State Routes 47 and 71 and the Clerk ; directed to write such a letter, upon a motion by Trustee Windett;, seconded by Trustee Hughes and an aye vote of all members presen 1. Trustee Windett made the following nomination• L I nominate Trustee Loomis to fill the vacancy in the office of President of the Board of Trustees until the neat regulard election. Trustee Hughes seconded the nomination. Roll Call: Ayes;Windett,Price,Horton,Hughes- Loomis passed. Nays None. RIM FAtk members having voted aye and no members voting nayx F.G. Loomis was appointed to the office of President of the - Board of Trustees , to hold that office until the next regular 3! election. The resignation of F.G. Loomis as member of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville was read and on motion by Trustee Windett, seconded by Trustee Horton that the resignation of F.G. Loomis be accepted.
