AN ORDINANCE OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, DELETING CHAPTER 11 OF TITLE 8, SIGNS, FROM THE YORKVILLE
CITY CODE UPON THE ADOPTION OF SIGN REGULATIONS INTO
THE NEW YORKVILLE ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville (the "City") is a duly organized and validly
existing non home-rule municipality created in accordance with the Constitution of the State of
Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council adopted on November 25, 2014, by Ordinance
Number 2014-73, AN ORDINANCE OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF A NEW AMENDED YORKVILLE
ZONING ORDINANCE that contained new sign regulations promoting reasonable, orderly and
effective use and display of signs including their maintenance; and,
WHEREAS, upon the adoption of the new Zoning Ordinance the existing sign
regulations in the Yorkville City Code can be repealed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the
United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: The above recitals are incorporated and made a part of this Ordinance.
Section 2: That Title 8 of the Yorkville City Code is hereby amended by deleting
Chapter 11, entitled"Signs", in its entirety.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval,
and publication as provided by law.
