City Council Minutes 1917 03-05-17 Yorkville,Kendall County,Illinois
March,5th,1917.
The President and members of the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Yorkville,convened in regular session in the council
rooms in the Hose house,Monday Evening.Marah,5th 1917.
President McClelland called the melting to order at 8 o'clock
P.Pd. The roll call was taken the following members responding
as present; President McClelland, Trustees; George OhsoaW.G.
Wollenweber,A.C.Merkle,F.E.Ament and M.N.Beeeher.
The minutes of the previous regular and spacial
meetings were read and aprroved as read.
The matter of bills was nett taken up, and the followlig
were read by the clerk,
A.C.Merkel, Sidewalk bill, $13.68 .

A motion was made by trustee 0hse seconded by Trustee
Beecher that the above bills be referral to the finance sommitts
and if the same were found sorr ect orders were to be drawn
for the p y a ment of same.
At this t6me Trusts: of the Committe on lights report id
that the street lights were not burning on the nights -of Fob.
21st & 22nd 1917.He further suvessted that payment for
service on those dates be with-held.
After a general discussion concerning the appoint-
i
ment of Judges and Clerks to serve at the primary election
Mar,13th and the regular Election April 17tk,1917, A motion
was made by Trustee Ohse that A.H.Van Emon,L.Hafenrichter &
Elias Ellis be appointed to act as Judges and J.E.Moore and
C.W.Beecher to act as clerksat the ebections - above mentioned
The motion was seconded by Trustee Ament and unaminously
approved.
The Clerk at this time read allowed the written
resignation of A.H.Van Emon, Police Magistrate. The same
was accepted on a motion by Trustee Chas seconded by Trustee
Ament.
The ,resignation of Trustee Beecher was read by: ty
clerk and on a motion by Trustee Merkel seconded by W.G.
Wollenweber and unaminausly carried the same was rejected.'
The Clerk at this time mad& averbal application
for water service on behalf of Miss Lilly Wesahe with the
understanding that she was to be---r the expense of installing
. the same. The permit was granted on a motion by Trustee
Beecher, seeonded by 'Trustee Ohee.
The clerk read a communication to the board
from Mr.Fred Martin concerning the water meter and rates for
water. A general diastLesion of the water and water meter
subject followed. A motion was made by Trustee Merkel and
seconded by Trustee Beecher and carried that the matter
of Mr.Martin' s water meter and water rate be left to the
water committee.
Concerding the water rate to Mr. Nading, Trustee feeskeV
moved and Frank E.Ament seconded the motion,that the water
committee be instruoted to notify Mr. Nadin` to within ten days
lase a water meter on the sonneetion at his plaiee of business
and to further notify him that he was to pay for water at the
meter rate established in the village,and as registeded by said
meter, on and after July,let,1917. The motion was carried,all
members of the board affirmiag the motion.
These being no further business the meeting was
adjourned on a motion by Trustee wolienwiber seconded by Trustee
Merkel,
