City Council Minutes 1916 11-06-16 Yorkville, Illinois,
November,6th,1916.
The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustee
of the Village of Yorkville,was held in the council rooms in th
Hose House in Yorkville,Monday evening November 6th,1916.
President McClelland called the meeting to order
at 8 o' clock P.M. The roll call was taken the following membe s
responding .as present; A..C.Merkel,M.N.Beeoher,F.E. Am�ent,
P,G.wollenwebex and George Oh$e. Absent George D.Ament. .

The minutes of the previous regular meeting were
read and approved as read.
The written resignation of Geo3Zge D. Ament was at
this time submitted and read by the clerk anc' on a motion by
Trustee Beecher, seconded by Trustee Wollenweber and unaminously
parried the same was accepted.
The clerk then read a communication from the
Chicago Telephone Company in which the said Company presented
its written and unconditional acceptance of the Attended
ordinance passed at a meeting of the Board on October 4,1916.
On a motion duly made and seconded the above
mentioned acceptance was approved and ordered filed.
At this tome Trustee Beecher of the Street and
Alley committee reported that in ac.-.ordance with a motion
passed at the previous meeting a crossing and walk had been
constructed under the supervision of the Street and Alley
at the intersection of Franklin and Mill Streets.
The above report was accepted and approved.
At this time the Board tool: up for consideration
the matter of purchasing the water pipe raid in Franklin Street
by A.C.Merkel. After a general discussion of the question
no action was taken.
On a motion by Trustee Merkel seconded by
Trustee Beecher the Clerk was instructed to drawn an order for
$200.00 and interest,payable Mareh,15th,::917 to reimburse
President McClelland for money borrowed to replen- is$ the Village
Treasury. The motion was carried all members present affirming
the motion.
The following bills were read;
Frank Anderson, Building sidewalk and crossing $40.00
1-.B.McOwan, Bill to Nov.lst,1916. $ 9.87
L.W.Mason, 94 Loads fillip# $23.50
Thad E. Seely, Bill to Nov.6th,1916. $14.30
On a motion by George Ohee seconded by A.C.Merkel
. the same were referred to the finance committee with the instruct-
ions that if they were found correct ord-Irs were to be drawn for
payment of same.
At this time a Mr.Black of the Portland Cement
Companyaddressed the President and members of the board. His
remarks had to do with the building of roads and Streets of
cement construction in particular,he submitted illustrations and
offered suggestions for the building of .permant paving in the
Village of Yorkville. The information he imparted was both
interesting and instructive. It was voted on a motion by F.E.
Ament seconded by W.". ollenweber that Mr.Black be extended a
vote of thanks for his interesting and instructive information
x
so intelligently placed before the board.
There being no further business to come
before the meeting the board adjourned.
