City Council Minutes 1916 10-04-16 Yorkville,I-.linois October,2,1916 Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois. Theme being :.ass than a quorum present the meeting was adjourned till Tlednesday Evening Oct.4th 1916 at 8 O' clock P.M. // ��C! Village Clerk. ,Yorkville, Kendall County,Illinois. October 4-�h,1916. The Board met pursuant to adjournment. President VoClell- and called the meeting to order ar 8 o'clockP.M: The roll call was taken the following members -responding President McClelland, Trustees; M.N.Be .eher,A.C.Merkel, W.G.Wollenweber and .George D.Ament. Trustees absent; George Ohee and F.E.Ament. The minutes of the previous reg.ilar and special meetings were read and approved as read. At this time the clerk read a ;ommunicattLon from -the Chicago Telephone dompany,the substance of which was a petition to the Board to pass an amendment to tae franchise now held by the said Chicago Telephone Co. The matter was further consider d later in the meeting. The following bills were thken read by the olerk. A.J.Carter bill to Sept,20th,1916. 2.48 A,C.Merkel,Bill to Oet.2nd,1916. 125.98 r G.Wollenweber One gal Oil .50 Public Service Co. Lighting, Aug,31,to Sept. 30. $78.00 R.A.McClelland Flaming Blue grin& 1.25 Harry, Hiskey Labor and mate=rial on Femm walk 153.75 Jay Widney, Bill for one concrete crossing walk $25.00 On a motion by George D.Ament,seconded by W.G.Wollenweber,the bills with the exception by the Widney bill were referred to the finance committee with instruction that if they were found correct orders were to Ve drawn for same.Motion carried the following members voting in the affirmative; M.N.Beeeher, A.C.Merkel,W. G.Wollenweber and Geroge D.Ament. George D;Ament made a motion that the Village pay one half of the Widney bill.The motion was seconded by M.N.Beecher. The yeas and nays were taken on the motion with following result. Beecher,Yea,Merkel Yea Wollenweber Yea George D.Ament Yea. Motion declared carried. At this $ime the Board indulged in a discussio concerning the purchasing of the water pipe laid in Franklin Street by A.C.Merkel. On a motion by Trustee Beecher seconded by Trustee Wollenweber the matter was deferred until another time. At this time Trustee Beecher for and on behalf od A;C.Merkel made a verbal application for a crossing walk on Mill street from Franklin street to Merkle' s property. .A motion was made by Trustee Wollenweber seconded by Trustee George Ament that the Street and Alley committee by. instructed to cause to be constructed a$ the intersection of Franklin and Mill streets a crossing walk as applied for by Merkel. The motion was carried all members present affirming th motion At this time the clerk read a'proposed Amendasnt to an ordinance previously granted to the' Chieago Temrephone Co. The same entitled as follwos; AN ORDINACE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE PA:SED OCTOBER BY .THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTS?'S OF THE VILLAGE OF YOR-* ILLE,ILLINOISa GRANTING CHICAGO TELEPHONE COMPANY CERTAIN RIGHTS Il T HE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS. A motion was duly made and seconded that the above. mentioned AMENDED ORDINANCE be passed as read.
