Ordinance 1953-54 s 1 I AN ORDINANCE to amend Section 12 and Section 31 of the Water Works Ordinance of the Village of Yorkville as passed and approved January 4, 1934 and subseauentl_v amended. Be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois; Section 1. That Section 12 of the Water Works Ordinance of the Villtg e of Yorkville as passed and approved January 4, 1934 be amended to read as follows: Section 12. That all connections and installations of water service from the existing main upon applicant 's street to the curb line, including the installation and use of a village water meter, shall be made only by authorized employees of the Village of Yorkville, and only after proper application has been made by the proposed user or property owner to the Village Treasurer, and upon payment by the user or property owner at the time of application for water, to the Village Treasurer, of a fee of Seventy-five Dollars ($75.00) . Section 2. That Section 31 of the Water Works Ordinance of the Village of Yorkville as passed and approved January 4, 1934 and as amended January 3, 1950, be further amended to read as follows: Section 31. (a) Meters shall be read quarterly and bills for water furnished shall be mailed on the first day of July, October, January and April, of each year and all bills and charges for water rents and other services are payable at the office of the Village Treasurer. (b) The following water rents, charges or rates are hereby established and shall be collected for all water consumption and water service rendered by the Village of Yorkville, M 2 for which each service shall be by meter registration. Three Dollars and Fifty Cents ($3.50) for each three hundred fifty (350) cubic feet or fraction thereof per quarter. Thirty cents ($0.30) per one hundred (100) cubic feet over three hundred fifty (350) . cubic feet to and including five thousand ( 5,000) cubic feet. Twenty -five cents ($.25) per one hundred (100) cubic feet above five thousand (5,000) cubic feet; a discount of five (5) per cent of the fact of the bill 'will `be allowed if , paid within ten (10) days from date of mailing of bill, pro- vided there is no discount on charges for repairs. (c) The above rates are for a quarter of a year or fraction thereof. (d) All charges for water service shall be due and payable upon rendition and mailing of notice of amount to the owner or tenant,and shall become delinquent at the expita- tion of thirty days from said date of mailing, and for the purpose of enforcing the lien provided by Article 75 Paragraph 4 of Chapter 24 Illinois Revised Statutes 1949, the fortieth day following the first day of the respective quarter, is here- by fixed as a delinquency date. (e) Ten days after a bill shall become delinquent, the watet may be shut off from the premises, and shall not be turned on until all back rentals and charges are paid together with one dollar ($1.00) for turning on the water. !I Section 3. All provisions of the ordinance of which this ordinance is an amendment, except as changed hereby, are hereby ratified and conf irmed, i i I 3 — Section 4.
