CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE , KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS HELD
APRIL 10 , 1980 AT CITY HALL. e
Mayor Thanepohn opened the Public Hearing meeting at 7 : 30 P.M.
Mayor Thanepohn read a letter from Kendall Family & Youth Services
regarding a request for Revenue Sharing funds of $.1100 or any amount
the City Council might give them for operation of their Homemaker
Aide Program. The representative from KFYS stated that the senior
citizen services in the past year were 48 services rendered and
in 1980 to date there have been 40 services rendered showing the
program to be expanding . Alderman Beach asked if all Cities were
contributing Revenue Sharing Funds and the representative responded
that those where services were rendered most were contributing to
the program.
Mayor Thanepohn read a letter from the Yorkville Public Library requesting
$4 , 860 in funds . for reference materials , collection development ,
programming , shelving to be purchased from the Oswego Public Library
District , microfilming & fiches and 50mm film rental .
Mrs . Identa Austin was represented the Fox Valley Older Adult Services
and passed out brochures showing the services given and amounts expended
in previous years . P4rs . Austin stated that property has been
purchased on Route 34 in Sandwich and the building has been remodeled
with a combination grant of $17 ,500 and the rest in volunteer labor .
There will be an openhouse at the building on May 4 , 1980 and everyone
present was invited to attend. Mrs . Austin is requesting $1 ,000
of Revenue Sharing Funds in behalf of the Fox Valley Older Adult
Services to continue providing services in the area .
Mayor Thanepohn stated that the requests would be considered for the
1980- 81 Budget of the City of Yorkville and that there is presently
$83 ,000 in the Revenue Sharing Account , with an estimated income
of $41 ,000 and interest income of X12 ,000 making the total amount
available $136 ,000 .
Public Hearing was adjourned. at 7 : 55 P.M.
