AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY,ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville,
Kendall County, Illinois (the "City"), that the Code of Ordinances of the United City of
Yorkville is hereby amended as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 3, Section 3-3-4, Subsection A(4) of the Code of Ordinances of the
City is hereby amended by adding the following new classification for a liquor license:
MD—Micro-distillery.
a. Authorizes the on-site production and storage of specified types of
alcoholic liquor, as determined by the local liquor control commissioner,
in quantities not to exceed fifteen thousand (15,000) gallons per year; the
sale of such alcoholic liquor to persons at least twenty-one (21) years of
age for consumption off the licensed premises; and the on-site sampling of
such alcoholic liquor subject to the conditions hereinafter stated.
b. Each Class MD licensee must obtain, prior to the issuance of a Class MD
license, a valid craft distiller license issued by the State of Illinois. All
products produced and stored on the licensed premises must be registered
with the state liquor commission. It shall be unlawful for a Class MD
licensee to sell a container of alcoholic liquor for off-premises
consumption unless the container is greater than or equal to three hundred
seventy-five milliliters (375 ml) in volume.
c. The production and sale of alcoholic liquor for consumption on the
licensed premises is expressly prohibited, except this class of license shall
allow the delivery of such alcoholic liquor, without a charge, by the
licensee in limited amounts for sampling purposes only, pursuant to the
following conditions:
(1) Sampling is permitted only in conjunction with pre-scheduled
guided tours of the licensed premises or as scheduled during
regular business hours. Such tours must be for the sole purpose of
promoting the sale of the alcoholic liquor produced and stored on
the licensed premises.
(2) All sampling shall be attended and supervised by a BASSET-
certified site manager and only in a designated on-site accessory
tasting room.

(3) Licensees shall not provide more than three (3) free samples, each
of which shall not exceed one-quarter (1/) fluid ounce, to any
person in a single day.
(4) Sampling shall be subject to such further regulations as deemed
necessary from time to time by the local liquor control
commissioner.
Section 2. Chapter 3, Section 3-3-5, Subsection B of the Code of Ordinances of the City
is hereby amended by adding the following to number 4 under said Subsection B:
MD—Micro-distillery............................................$1,500.00
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, publication,
and approval as provided by law.
