City Council Minutes 1977 11-17-77 (Public Hearing) MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE , ILLINOIS, NOVEMBER 17 , 1977 .
Mayor Thanepohn called the meeting to order and roll call was taken
with the following members present :
Ward 1 - Alderman Beach
Alderman Wolff
Ward 2 - Alderman Harker
Ward 3 - Alderman Simmons
Absent were Aldermen Hanback & Smith .
Petition to vacate Powers Court in Countryside Center Subdivision
was presented by Attorney ' s Grant and Kramer in behalf of their
clients , Randy Erickson and Robert Loftus .
After a discussion period , motion was made by Alderman Beach with a
second by Alderman Simmons to approve the vacation ( see attached copy) .
Roll call was taken with the following Aldermen voting Aye : Beach ,
Harker , Simmons . Voting Nay was Alderman Wolff .
Attorney Dickson was then instructed to draw up an Ordinance to vacate
Powers Court to be presented at the regular meeting of the City
Council , December 1 , 1977 .
Meeting adjourned .

MOTION RECOMMENDING VACATION OF POWERS COURT
It was moved by Alderman Beach at the November 17,
1977 public hearing of the Committee of the whole of the
Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville,
as follows:
"Moved that the Committee as a whole recommend
to the City Council of the United City of the Village of
Yorkville that Powers Court be vacated, subject to the
conditions as recommended by the Yorkville Planning Commission,
as outlined in its Planning Commission meeting of the 25th
day of October , 1977, a copy of said conditions
being attached hereto and made a part hereof. It is, further,,
the specific finding of this Committee as a whole that thereis-
no benefit to the adjoining landowners by vacation
of Powers Court. "
