MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY OF TH
VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON AUGUST 29, 197+ AT 7:30 P.M
Mayor Coleman called to order this adjourned meeting of the August 22, 197+ meeting
and directed the Clerk to take the roll. The following Aldermen were present:

Mayor Coleman turned the meeting over to Ald. Thanepohn, Finance Chairman.
Ald. Thanepohn stated since this was an adjourned meeting of the 22nd, he asked to
back to his Police Committee Report. The most active squad car is in need of tires
he presented bids from Rich's Union 76 $244.00 and B.F. Goodrich Co. $159.20. Dis=
on the need of new tires. Ald. Wolff telephoned for the car to be brought over to C:
Hall so he could inspect the tread on the tires.
Bill Sanders, city auditor, went over the audit and answered questions from Ald.
Thanepohn. Ald. Simmons arrived 8:05P.M. There was a discussion on 1959 water revel
bonds. Insurance policies will be studied by Clerk Brant and Ald. Thanepohn so spec
ifications can be sent out for insurance bids before 1975. Ald. Ellis moved the
Finance Committee be empowered to investigate and try to insure the properties as t1
their value, seconded by Ald. Wolff, motion carried. Discussion on Fair Labor Stan-
dards Act, conflict of interest and ethics reports, National Flood insurance and
codifying ordinances.
Ald. Thanepohn moved the Clerk be instructed to transfer $5,580.00 from the Bond &
Interest Fund to the Construction Fund (Audit Page 3). Seconded by Ald. Wolff. Roll
call vote: Wolff-aye; Hanback-aye; Thanepohn-aye; Ellis-aye; Simmons-aye, motion
passed unanimously. Ald. Thanepohn moved the Clerk transfer $2,911.55 from the Bon(
Interest Fund, Issue of 1950 to the Sewer Expansion Fund (Audit Page 31), secondec
by Ald. Wolff. Roll call vote: Wolff-aye; Hanback-aye; Thanepohn-aye; Ellis-aye; Sin
ons-aye, motion passed unanimously.
Ald. Wolff stated he felt there was still a lot of tread left on the tires but it do
skid on wet pavement and to prevent an accident, would recommend purchasing a new se
of tires. He will talk to B.F. Goodrich on the trade-in allowance as he feels the ti
are worth more than $40.00. He also suggested keeping these tires to have on hand ir.
case of an emergency. Ald. Wolff moved that the Police Committee have the authority
to purchase the tires from B. F. Goodrich and make a decision to take the bid with
trade-in or not. Seconded by Ald. Ellis, motion carried.
