MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON JANUARY 11,
1973, AT 8100 P.M,
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and asked the City Council and visitors
to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. He then directed the
clerk to take the roll. Upon roll being taken, the following Aldermen were presents

Mayor Coleman directed the Clerk to read the minutes of the regular meeting. Alder-
man Madden moved to dispense with reading of the minutes as all aldermen had copies.
Seconded by Alderman Follmer. Motion carried.
Alderman Follmer moved to dispense with reading the bills for the month of December

Supto Price read the water, street and sewer and building inspector's reports.
Each aldermen had received copies of the Treasuer's Report. Mayor Coleman asked
Mrs. Merkel to have a special report on the sales tax that comes in this month
now that Countryside Shopping Center is open.
Chief Prickett gave the Police Report.
No Planning Commission report*
Clerk had a verbal report from the Zoning Board of Appeals that the petition on
the Thurow property had been withdrawn.
Old Business:
Mayor Coleman stated he had given verbal permission to Mr* Dick Little to use the
City Hall for a property auction*
Attorney Bassak presented the ordinance for amending parking fines (see attach-
aent). Alderman Madden awed this ordinance be passed. Seconded by Alderman Ellis*

Attorney BiLssak stated February 8th a presentation will be given on the BOCA code
to the Council.
Discussion on hiring a planning consultant. Alderman Ellis moved to hire James
8 Clarage as planning consultant for 1 year, retainer of $900 per year and he

would attend 12 monthly meetings of the Planning Commission. Seconded by Alder-
man Madden. Roll call votes

Motion carried. Clerk was directed to follow up on this matter.
Mayor Coleman thanked the Council for the flowers sent expressing sympathy to the
family of his father-in-law.
Mr. Price reported he had not received the written approval to release sewer hookupi
Discussion. The Council suggested Mr. Price write a letter to 1C..ackert A Associates
warning the developers of Apple Tree Courts no final inspection has been issued
and, therefore, no occupancy should take place and court action will be inatiga�ted
if not complied with. A copy of this letter should be also sent to the seller.
Alderman Ellis suggested we take care of immediate business and in 2 weeks meet
again because of the electrical problem at city hall.
A pre-annexation agreement was presented by Dale Kissel and Attorney alwin T.
Simpson for 60 acres located on the west side of Rt. 47 contiguous to the city
south of Elizabeth St. Alderman Follmer moved to refer this to the Planning
Commission. Alderman Ellis seconded. Roll call votes

Attorney Bassak presented a dedication to the city from the Yorkville National
Bank for an alley located off Franklin Ste to the new drive-in building of the
bank. Alderman Follmer moved the Mayor and Clerk be given authority to sign the
dedication if the alley meets with all requirements. Seconded by Alderman Ellis.

Mayor Coleman stated the Ford squad car is in need of valves and new carburetor.
Alderman Ellis moved the Police Committee be empowered to get bids for a new
squad oar and look into the cost of leasing a car for police use. Seconded by
Alderman Follmer. Motion oarried.
Clerk stated another revenue sharing check was received in the amount of $69650.009
He was directed to invest the same as the previous check.
James Price was directed to get an electrician as soon as possible to check the
wiring in the city hall. Alderman Follmer moved to adjourn at 9120 P.M, to meet
Lgain January 25. 1973 at City Hall. All committee reports and other business
will be covered at that meeting.
