MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON DECEMBER
10, 1970 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll
the following aldermen were presents
1st ward - Bob Thomas
2nd ward - Vernon Florence, LeRoy Thaneophn
3rd ward - Richard Mitchell, Ralph McHugh
Absent - James Follmer.
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and
Aldermen held on November 12, 1970• Said minutes were approved as read.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refemd to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
City treasurer Paul Merkel then gave the report of the city finances, said
report being approved.
Chief Win Prickett then gave the report on the Police Dept. with said report
being approved.
Mayor Coleman then read the report of the Water Department and Streets and
Alleys with said report being approved.
Mr. August Corniels stated the water pressure at his home was very low. Mayor
Coleman explained about-. the water tower.
Mr. Carl Riemenschneider then asked about the rebait on the water special
assessment. Attorney Ingemunson stated the money would be sent out as soon as
the amounts could be determined.
The report of the Planning Commission was read by Mayor Coleman.
A petition was read asking to rezone the Harker property to Apartment uses.
This was referred to the Zoning board of Appb4as.
Mayor Coleman then read a letter from the Enviromental Protection Agency
stating that the water mains to the Wolf Apaxbont must be 8 inch.
Bids were opened for a new Police car. They were as follows:

A general discussion followed.
Alderman Thanepohn seconded by Alderman Mitchell to accept bid of Kane Ford.
The following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Thanepohn, Florence, Mitchell,
and McHugh.
Chief Prickett then requested a Walkie Talkie radio for the Police Dept. A
discussion followed. Alderman Thomas seconded by Alderman Thanepohn to pur-
chase a new one and a reconditioned one when available. Roll Call the
following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Thanepohn, Florence, Mitchell and
McHugh.
A general discussion was had on Modular Homes. Mayor Coleman was to check
with and see if they complied with all state building regulations. The
Building and Zoning Committee to check on construction.
Mike Oss of the Jaycees reported on a community survey. He requested use of
Citv 1 as meeting lace for Senior Citizen. Mayor Coleman agreed.
