City Council Minutes 1970 08-13-70 FORM 601-49®U.S.A. August 13, 1970 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON AUGUST 13, 1970. The Mayor called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll. Upon roll-being taken the following aldermen were present: 1st ward - Follmer, Thomas 2nd ward - Florence, Thaneophn 3rd ward - McHugh, Mitchell The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on July 9 and the adjourned meeting held on July 30, 1970 with both set of minutes being approved as read. The clerk then read the bills as follows: Illinois Boll Telephone, phone service 1.93 Yorkville National Bank, payment #1, tractor 138.54 Farmers State Bank, payment #5, police car 208.57 Northern Illinois Gas Co., heat city buildings 70.09 Southtown Oil Co. , gas police ans street dept 96.65 Rice's Service, gas police car 201.76 Choker Oil Co., gas police 219.79 Prickett TV, radio service 79.71 Hilltop Sinclair, service police car 16.90 Win Priekett, ,use of personal car 55.00 Bob's Service, police car 4.45 Fox Valley Dispsoal Co. , garbage removal 898.50 Archie Bieritz, mowing of park 80.00 Fredrickson's Office Supplies, office supplies 15.00 Yorkville Hardware, opp supplies 11.39 H & W Construction, retaining wall 325.00 Kendall County Record, publishing 273.50 E. Chief Pickett then read the monthly report of the police department which was approv as read. FORM 601-49®U.S.A. The report on the Water Department and Streets and Alleys was read and approved. City Attorney Ohse then presented the Tax Levy Ordinance with a discussion following. Alderman Thomas seconded by Alderman Florence to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the fallowing aldermen voted aye: Follmer, Thomas, Florence, Thanepohn, Mitchell and McHugh, carried. Attorney Ohre then presented An Ordinance amending An Ordinance concerning Alcoholic Liquor as passed April 21, 1960 and as amended. A discussion followed. Alderman Thanepohn seconded by Alderman Florence that this be tabled for study until the next regular meeting, September 10, 1970. Upon roll being taken, all aldermen voted aye. Minutes of the Yorkville Planning Commission were read by Mayor Coleman. Said minutes were approved as read. James Price then read a letter from the Enviromental Portection Agency. Mr. Pripe was instructed to write and inform them the City would comply at once. Alderman Florence then reported on repairs along Hydraulic Street. The County Nurse has had complaints about the family living at 209 East Spring. This was referred to the Health Committee for action. A discussion was had on crossing guards salary. Alderman Thomas seconded by Alderman Thanepohn to increase the salary from $300 to $4.00 per day. Upon roll the following aldermen voted aye: Follmer, Thomas, Florence, Thanepohn, Mitchell and McHugh. Mayor Coleman nominated Ralph Smith as Building Inspector with the sl.ary of $5.00 per inspection to be paid to Kendall County. Motion to confirm was made by Alderman Mitchell, seconded by Alderman Follmer, with all aldermen voting aye. Said nomination was confirmed. There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
