MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY
OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL JANUARY 13, 1970 FOR
THE PURPOSE OF' OONDUCTING REGULAR CITY BUSINESS.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Thomas, Follmer
2nd ward - Thanepohn
3rd ward - McHugh, Mitchell
Absent - Florence
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on December
11 , 1969. Said minutes were approved as read.

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.

Mayor Coleman read the report on the Water Department and Streets and Alleys due
to the absence of James Price.
The Police report for the month of December 1969 was read and approved.
Mayor Coleman then read the report of the Zoning Board of Appeals on the rezon-
ing of t'-ie 1,7alter Olsen property on Route 47 and 126. Thly recommended the change
to B-3.
Alderman Mitchell seconded by Alderman Thomas to accept said change. Upon roll
being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Thanepohn, McHugh,
and Mitchell.
Mr. VIalter Olsen then reported that the city share for planning would be $2,667.6?
over a three year period. This would be paid to Kendall County.
Mr. Frank Witt then gave a summary of the type building and operations of the
spice packing business he will operate on his newly rezoned property.
A letter was read from Mr. Allen Brady, Kendall County Civil Defense Director, in
regard to the siren for storm warning. A discussion followed.
A report from the Department of Public Works and Buildings on street maintenance
under Motor Fuel Tax was read. This was filed by the Clerk.
Mayor Coleman then read a letter from the State Fire Marshall on the Harker Self
Service Gas Station on Morgan Street. Attorney Ohse stated this was between
Mr. Harker and the State Fire Marshall.
Mayor Coleman then read a letter written to Pr. Ralph Erickson on Elizabeth
Street. This was in regard to the number of dogs that he owned and the nuisance
of them. He reported that Mr. Dickson had removed the five pups from his
property and keeping the old dogs.
The Yearly Work Resolution from the Department of Public Works and Buildings was
presented. Alderman Thanepohn seconded by Alderman Follmer to accept said resolu-
tion upon rolJ/being taken all aldermen voted aye.
The Lions Club said they would maintain Palmer Dam and Alderman Thanepohn was to
work with them.
The Kendall County Nurse requested that the Cozy Cafe be closed. Mr. Pat Toben
complained to her. A general discussion followed.
The City Attorney was instructed to draw an ordinance regulating resturants and
places serving food and present it at the next regular meeting.
Bids were opened for a Police Car. They were as follows:
Owen Kane Ford - - - - - - - - - $2,880.18
Lies Chevrolet - - - - - - - - - 2,340.00, plus $55 for Big Motor
A general discussion followed. On motion of Alderman Thanepohn seconded by
Alderman Thomas to accept bid of Lies Chevrolet.

Alderman Thomas that all Full Time Employees receive $25 per month increase in
salary. This was seconded by Alderman Follmer. Upon roll being taken the
following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Thanepohn, McHugh and Mitchell.
