MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON APRIL 10,
1969.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - James Follmer, Bob Thomas
2nd ward - Vernon Florence, Richard Walker
3rd ward - Richard Mitchell
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held March 13, 1969
which were approved as read.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.

City attorney Ohse then reported that there was money enough to abate the special
assessment bond issue for water mains. A general discussion followed. Alderman
Follmer seconded by alderman Thomas that the outstanding water bonds be recalled
and all excess funds go into the public benefit fund. Upon roll being taken the
following aldermen voted aye: Follmer, Thomas, Florence, Walker and Mitchell.

Chief Prickett then gave the monthly report of the police department which was
approved as read.
James Price then read the report on the water department and streets and alleys
which was approved as read.
Attorney Ohse then presented and read an ordinance vacating a portion of Madison
St. , (see ordinance book) A general discussion followed: klderman Mitchell
seconded by alderman Follmer to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the
following aldermen voted aye: Follmer, Florence, Walker, Mitchell Not voteing,
Thomas, Carried.
Attorney Ohse then reported on selling bonds for the purposed water tower and
water main extension. He reported that the present revenue bond issue could be
recalled and re-issued when the new bonds are sold. A discussion followed:
Alderman Mitchell seconded b y alderman glorenee that the $85,000.00 revenue
bonds still outstanding be recalled and re-issued with the new $180,000.00 water
revenue bonds. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Follmer,
Thomas, Walker, Fhorneee, Mitchell.
Mr. Nick Moisa then presented the drawing of the memorial to be erected in the park
He stated that this would be completed by memorial day.
Alderman Follmer seconded by alderman man Walker that the Park Committioe be
em-powed to purchase a flag pole for said memorial. Upon roll being taken the
following aldermen voted aye: Follmer, Thomas, Florence, Walker, Mitchell.
Alderman Flornece then reported that the police had purchased riot helmits from
their own funds. Alderman Walker seconded by alderman Thomas that the police depa-
rtment be re-imbursed for said purchases. Upon the roll being taken the following
aldermen voted aye; Follmer, Thomas, Walker, Flornce and Mitchell.
A general discussion was had on securing land for the water tower. Alderman
Florence seconded by alderman Walker that the water committiee be permited to optio
land for said water tower. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted
aye: Follmer, Thomas, Florence, Mitchell.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned until April 17th at
1 P.M. for the purpose of a canvas of the election held on April 15th.
