March 13, 1969 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE IIHl'M CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MARCH 13, 1969 AT 8:00 P.M. c Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the rolll Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were presefit; 1st ward - Bo h ,James Follmer 2nd ward - r, Richard Walker 3rd ward - Richard 0. Mitchell absent - Duane Hayden j The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen held February 13, 1969 with said minutes being approved as read. The Clerk then read the bills as follows: Prickett TV, service, police radio 5.00 King Petroleum Co., Gas, police car 162.80 Bob's Service, Police acct 3A.61 Southtown Texaco, Gas police dept 5.51 Zeiter's Cities Service, Gas police dept 195.85 Muni-Quip Corp, service radar, police dept 15.18 Ted Wilkenson, Flag police department 2.36 Illinois Bell Telephone, phone service 5.73 Kendall County Record, Printing and publish ordinances 30.40 Riemenschneider Electric, Material and labor police station 60.52 Fox Valley Disposal Co., Garbage removal 694.80 Kendall Farmers Oil Co., Rock salt 8.00 Yorkville Hardware, operating supplies 15.60 Yorkville Implement Co., Labor tractor 8.80 Farmers Elevator Co., Sakret and sand mix 82.23 Meyer Material Co., road gravel 16.97 Central Limestone Co., Roadstone 148.86 Commonwealth Edison Co., street lighting 337.29 Riemenschneider Electric, parts and labor, well house 62.22 Illinois Bell Telephone, phone service 9.79 Ross Valve Man. The balances in the water fund and the general fund was given the council. A general discussion followed. Alderman Mitchell seoonded by alderman Thomas that the general fund billsnot be paid until the February and March sales tax was rec- eved by the city. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. Carried. James Price then gave the monthly report on the water department and the streets and alleys. Said report was approved as read. Chief prickett then gave the report on the police department which was approved as read. FORM 601-49® ....A. see attached resolution on Special assessment bonds. The police committiee then reported that they had purchased the Custom 500 Ford form Zementyer for the police department for 961426.71. The aldermen then appointed t' e election judges as followa; lot ward - Billie Hosey Stella Christian Jean Riemenschneider L-`vE w u�,Spera 2nd ward: Madlien MRrris Herbert Chase Hilda Gardner Delores Martin Franklyn Martyn 3rd ward - James Talbott Madge Renniger Alta Hayden C I`E O r tz Clara Blackman Alderman Mitchell seonced by alderman Walker to accpet said judges all aldermen voted aye: Alderman Walker seconded by alderman Mitchell that the Judges of election be paid $20,00. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye George Griffin of Walter E. Deuchler and Assoc. thenreported that the proposed water tower and mains could be built and installed for $180,000.00. It was broken down as follows: 6000 foot water main, booster pump, $55,000.00; Water tower, $100,000.00; Engineeria&,� $15,000.00; legal, $10,000.00; a general discussion followed. The water committiee was instructed to meet with the school board and begin negoations in obtsning the necessary land for the water tower. Alderman Thomas seconded by alderman Mitchell that Layne Western Co. be employed to make necessary test holes where water tower should be cons#ructed. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Walker, Florence l and Mitchell. Mr. William Morrissey of Morrissey and Co. then talked on selling of the revenue bonds. They would be 6% bonds in $5,000.00 demonations. A general discussion followed; Alderman Thomas seconded by Alderman Florence to sell the bonds to Morrissey and Company at 6% subject to city attorney's approval. Th+A would be a 30 year bond issue. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted Rye; Thomas, Follmer, Walker, Florence and Mitchell. , A general discussion followed the proposal by Mr. Elaine Harker to oper River street by his self service station. Alderman Florence seconded by alderman Follmer to accept said proposal by Mr. Harker. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. Mayor Coleman then nominated Martin Behrens to fill the unexpired term of R. P. Fisher on the zoneing boarR Of appeals. Upon roll being taken all aldermen vote aye. There being �ad ourned. (see attached sheet) The motion to accept was made by alderman Thomas sconnded by alderman Walker. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Florence, Walker and Mitchell. There being no other business the meeting was adjourned. 5� y2.
