Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen of the United
City of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois, held at the City Hall on November
14, 1968 at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
Mayor Coleman Called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - James Follmer, Bob Thomas
2nd ward - Vernon Florence, Richard Walker
3rd ward - Richard 0. Mitchell
Absent - Duane Hayden.
The minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on October 10, 1968 were desponsed
with.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance commitiee to be paid if found correct.

Chief Prickett then gave the monthly report of the police department which was
approved as read.
James Price then gave the monthly report of the streets and alleys and the
water department which was approed as read.
Mayor Coleman then read the report of the zoneing board of appeals recommedating
that Mrs. Laverne Rowlands petition to re-zone her property to appartment uses
be denied. A general discussion followed. Mr. Robert Greer represented by
attorney John Peterson gave a talk on how the land would be developed.
Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Thomas that the change of zoning be
accepted and the vote was as follows: Alderman Thomas, Aye; Follmer, Yes;
Florence, Naye; Walker, Naye; Mitchell, Aye, Motion was lost.
Alderman Walker seconded by alderman Follmer that this be returned to the
zoning board of appeals for more study. Upon roll being taken the following
aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Florence, Walker, Mitchell. Nayes, None.
The clerk was then called from the meeting and James E. Price was appointed
clerk pro-Tem.
Attorney Ohse then reported that J. C. Morrow and Pauline J. Morrow have filed
bankrupey and the City is listed as a creditor.
A proposal from the Martin Sheet Metal for heating the police building and
proposed 24, x 24' addition. Duct work and furnace with wiring $715.00. Alder-
man Follmer seconded by alderman Thomas that this proposal be talbed one
month. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye.
Two bids for 2- 8 R 7:15 tires for the Ford 350 truck were read. Alderman
Follmer seconded by alderman Florence that the bid of Bob's Standard service
be accepted. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas,
Follmer, Florence, Walker and Mitchell.
A proposal by the Yorkville Implement company to overhall the Int 3414 was
read. ($200.00 plus time). A general discussion followed. Alderman Florence
seconded by Alderman Walker that the lease of a tractor be investigated.
Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye.
Chief Priekett then reported that the Swanson Motor sales was working out
an lease agreement for a police car with exact details later. This was
turned over to the police committies to report back.
There bing no other business the meeting was adjourned at 10 PM.
