MINUTES OF THE RF.GUL:a MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MaYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON AUGUST 8,
1968 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the followin` aldermen were present:
1st ward - Bob Thomas
2nd ward - Richard Walker
3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
Absent, James Follmer, Vernon Florence.
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on July
11, 1968. Said minutes were approved as read.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
A general discussion was had on stye t signs. A no out let to placed on west
end of Ridge Street, Yield signs on the coroners of Orange and ',,,Iashington streets
at 'Main St., Alderman Thomas made this motion seconded by alderman Hayden.
Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye; Carried.

Chief Prickett then give the monthly report on the police department which was
approved as read.
Magog Coleman then read James Prices report on,.the water department and the
streets and alleys. Said report was approved as read.
Alderman Hayden then requested that the American Field Services be alowed
to use the Park for a auction to be held on August 30th. Alderman Thomas
seconded by alderman Hayden this ge branted. Upon roll being taken all
aldermen voted aye;
Attorney ohse then presented the tax levy ordinance. After a general discussion
alderman Hayden seconded by alder Thomas to accept said ordinance. Upon roll
being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Walker, Hayden and Mitchell.
A petition was then presented by,'R^a]ph Gardner to rezone pr perty from residdntal
at appartment uses. This in on `6ss river road. Alderman Mitchell seconded by
alderman Hayden to ref :r this to the zonning board of appeals. Upon roll call
all alderman voted aye.
MAyorvGDleman then presented a report from the Illinois Department of Public
health with four vilations against the cozy cafe. A genaail dieussion then
f ollowd.
Alderman Walker then offered black dirt for the Little League field on East
Van 4mmon street. this officer was accepted by the city.
There being no other business the meeting yras adjourned.
