City Council Minutes 1968 06-13-68 FORM 601-490 U.S.A. June 13, 1968 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR. MONTHLY =- TING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY OF TIM VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, H=LD AT THE CITY HALL ON JUNE 13, 1968 AT 8:00 P.M. The Clerk took rool call and the following aldermen were present: 1st ward - None 2nd ward - Vernon Florence, Richard Walker 3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell Absent - Mayor Coleman, Aldermen Bob Thomas and James Follmer The clerk then asked for nominations for a mayor pro-tem. Alderman 'lorence seconded by alderman Walker that Hayden be mayor Pro-tem. Upon roll all alder men voted aye. Carried. The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on May 9, 1968. Said minutes were ordered approved as read. The clerk then readatheabills as follows: U. S. Treasury Department, W. The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct. James Price then gave the monthly report on the water department and the streets and alleys. Said report was approved as read. Chief Prickett then gave the monthly report on the police department which was approved as read. Mr. Arnie K:=nauf and Mr. Ed Gawne, representing the J C's requested permission to use the park for a fund raiseing day on August 18th from 11 A. M. to 7 P.M. and to close Church Street from Main street to Center Street, A dance to be held at the 'Grade school blacktop in the evening. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Walker to approve. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. A general discussion then followed on maintaing the new JC park when it is completed. Mr. Delman Becker then gave an oral report on the zoneing board meeting onthe Jackson property on east Van Emmon Street. The board gave it approval this was to be confirmed in writing. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Florence to aece�t said change. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Florence, "alker, Mitchell, Hayden. The clerk then read the apporation ordinance. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Walker to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voteing aye: Florence, balker, Hayden, Mitchell. Alderman Florence then reported on a meeting of the police committiee in regards to parking on Hydraulic Street from Bridge to Morgan streets. It was suggested that on parking be be alowed on north side of street. A discussion followed. This was tabled until a later date. A general discussion was had on hiring another full time police man. Itwas left up to the police committiee. There being no other business the meeting .,as adjourned.
