March 14, 1968 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MARCH :14, 1968 AT 8:00 P.M. Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll; upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present: 1st ward - Bob Thomas, James Follmer 2nd ward - Vernon Florence, Richard Walker 3rd ward - Duane Hayden- Richard Mitchell The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the mayor and aldermen held on February 8, 1968. Said minutes were approved as read. The clerk then read the bills as follows: Baird Jewelers, Camera, case, etc 24.50 E. R. FORM 601-49®.U.S.A. Chief Winfred Prickett then gave the report of the Police department forr:the month of February which was approved as read. Umes Price the gave the monthly report on the water department and the streets and alleys which was approved as read. A gneral discussion was had on dogs running lose. This was fefeted to the police ` department for action. Alderman Mitchell then reported on a meeting with Mr. John Conover in regards to water for the Country side subdivision. (See attached sheet). A genestl discussion followed. The agreement was approved. A general discussion followed &n delinquent water bills. Supertindeent Price was instructed to turn off delinquent users until the back bills have been paid and a turn on fee paid. Mr. Vernon Hansen then requested that street signs be etected on the lane leading to his homes on the east end of Hydraulic street to East VanFmmon St., this was refered to the street and alley committiee for study. Walter E. Deuchler and Assoc then presented a resolution for street repairs under Motor fuel Tax Money. (See attached resolution). A discussion followed; Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said resolution. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Walker, Florence, gayden and Mitchell. Walter E. Deucherl and Assoc then poesented a resolution for designation of arterial streets under the Illinois highway code. (See attached sheet) A • discussion followed: Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Follmer to toaccept said resolution. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, rollmer, Walker, Florence, Hayden an~ Mitchell. A gene al discussion was had on the Bristol Road sewer extension. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Florence that the clerk advertise Sor bids to be opened April 11th at 8:00 P,M. for the said sewer extension. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, F&llmer, Walker, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell. The Mayor then reported that the Northern Illinois gas Cc. had increased the number of therms to ph given the city under it's franchise from 2100 to 6300. The Mayor then designated the library as the receiver of sW incrase. A general discussion was had on the City purchasing the Breese building on Fox Road. The was tabled until later. A gneral discussion was had on garbage removal. The health and sanitation committiee was instructed to draw up specifications and the clerk to advertise for bids to be opened April 11th. There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
