MINUTES OF THE REGUALR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON FEBRUARY
8, 1968 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk tocall the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Bob Thomas, James Follmer
2nd ward - Vernon Florrence, Richard Walker
3rd ward - Daeiw-#tarn, Richard Michtell

The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the mayor and
aldermen held on January 11, 1968. Said minutes were approved as read.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance c ommittiee to be paid if foune correct.
Chief Prickett then read the monthly report of the police department which
was approved as read.
James Price then read the monthly report the water department and the streets
and alleys. Said reports were approved as read.
Mayor Coleman then read a report from the Department of Public Health reporting
on water contimation due to low water pressure. A general discussion followed.
A general discussion was had on a sewer extension from Park street north to
walnut street with said extension being on Bristol Road. The estimated cost
being $12,200.00. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Florence to davertise
for bids on this sewer extension. The clerk to contact Walter E. Deuchler and
Assoc. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voteing aye: Thomas, Follmer,
Walker, Florence, Miichell. Nayes None.
A general discussion was had on up-grading street lighting in the City. Alderman
Florence seconded by aldermanMitchell to install mercury vapor lights at the
following coroners: Church and Somonauk, King and Somonauk. Washington and Morgan,
Orange and Heustis, Mill and Heustis, Heustis and VanEmmon, East Main by swim
club. Madison and Main. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voting
aye: Thomas, Follmer, Wakker, Floredce, Mitchell.
Aldenown"Mitchell reporting for the Health and Sanitation Committiee that a
Meeting will be held with Mr. Millhouse of Fox Valley Disposal Company in regards
to gargage contracts. e_ :-`" jQ.
Alderman Florence reported that the Lions club wanted to place a large rock with
a brass plate as a sign in the park.
Alderman Florence then reported that Edward Kilts would give the city first
chance to purchase his building as a storage and garage fnn the city. This
was tabled intil a later date.
Alderman Mitchell then made a motion that the city salary's should be as follows:
James Price, $750.00; Arlie Lough, $25.00 raise with an additional $25.00 may 1st;
Winfred Prickett $625.00; :Alvin Spera and R. Clark Morrell $25.00 May 13t and
an additional $25.00 August 1st. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen
voting aye: Thomas, Follmer, Walker, Florence, Mitchell.

Mayor Coleman then presented a resolution entitled "Know your local Goverment."
Alderman Follmer seconded by alderman Wkerrto accept said resolution. Upon
roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Thomas, Follmer, Walker,
Florence, Mitchell.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
