MINUTES OF TI-' REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING 01'' THE MAZOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED

AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - .James Follmer, Bob Thomas
2nd ward - La-,-mence Gardner, Vernon Florence
3rd ward - Daune Hayden, Richard ^iitchell
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor
and Aldermen held at the city hall on May 11, 1967. Said minutes were ord-
ered approved as read.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
The police report for the month of May was read and ordered approved.
Chief Saum then read his letter of resignation effective the 11th of June.
Alderman Mitchell seconded by Alderman Gardner to acepet. Upon roll being
taken all aldermen voted aye.
James Price then read the report of the water dep�jr tment and the streets
and alleys. Said report was approved as read.
Alderman Gardner then requested that the watermainiext6nsticn on Washington
street from Adrian to Morgan be installed as per agreement with sub-dividers.
The City attorney was instructed to write the subdivider in this matter.
Charles Dirst, secretary of the grade school boaad then proposed that the
school install the entire :rater main for the new gradeschool and the city to
supply water free of charge to said school for a period of eight years. A
gene al discussion followed and alderman Gardner then suggested that the
bity to furnish 50% of the cost of the watermain with free water and this
to be on a dollar for dollar basis The school and ;ras to take

proposal under study.
The no parking ordinance fon Hydraulic street was then presented and read
by the city at''Lorney. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Thomas to
accept aid ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted
aye, Follmer, Thomas, Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell.
2 petition was presented then to rezone the Pernuto property at the corner
of Franklin Street north along Bridge street for the disitance of 200 feet.
The present zoning being B-1 to B-8. Alder-an Mitchell :seconded by alderman
Gardner to referee this to the zoneing board of appeals. Upon roll being
taken all aldermen voteing aye.
Mayor Coleman the:'. re.appb&fited George Walters to the Zoning board of
appeals for the period of 5 years. Alderman Mitchell seconded by Alderman
Florence to confirms said appointment. All aldermen voteing aye upon roll.
Dallas C. Imgemunson, acting city attorney, read a proposed Ordinance
imposing a tax on certain utilities do ng business the the United City of
Yorkville, Illinois. It was :Waved by alderman ?Mitchell that said ordinance
as read be approved, seconded by alderman Hayden. A discussion was had regarding
said motion and upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted "Aye" :
Thomas, Vollmer, Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell. The following
aldermen voted Faye: none.
where upon the Mayor declared the motion carried and directed the clerk to
file same in the records of the city council of the United City of The Village
of Yorkville, kendall County, Illinois.
The acting city attorney was then directed by the Mayor to take the necessary
steps in order to acquaint the untilities involvedwith said ordinance.

Fir. "lex Engel of Pruddntial Insurance Comapny then presented the health and
accident insurance proposal for the city. Said:iniurance to cost the city
$59.09 per month. A general discussion followed. Alderman Mitchell
seconded by lderman Hayden to accept said policy under the conditions it
could be cancelled if the policy did not come up to city standards. Upon
roll being taken the following aldermen voteing aye, Follmer, Thomas, Gardner
Blornee, Hayden and Kitchell.
There being no other b ,siness the meeting was adjourned.
