MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON JUNE 9,
1966 AT 8:00 o'clock P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Lawrence Gardner, Vernon Florence
3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on May 13, 1966
said minutes were ordered approved.
Mayor Madden then adked for a spokesman from a group of people attending the meetin
Mr. and Mrs. Owen Staples then stated the Archie lsieritz was parking his garbage
truck 4nd was also washing them in a residentual area of town. This was a health
hazard then stated. This was confirmed by about 20 other person attending the
meeting. After a general discussion this was refered to the city attorney for
study and action.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committie to be paid if found correct.
James price then gave the report an the streets and alleys and the water department
which was approved as read.
A general discussion was held on purchasing a spreader for the street department.
Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Burroughs to purchase said machine. Upon
roll eall all aldermen voted aye.
The report on the police department was read by chief martyn said report was
orddred approved as read.
Alderman Gardner then reporting for the water committie that there ',should be a
master water meter. . A general discussion followed. Supretindendt Price was
instructed to purchase said meter.
A generil discussion was had on purchasing or leasing a new tractor. This was
tables until a later date.
Alderman Coleman then gave a report on the library board meeting.
Alderman Burroughs then stated that the west ends of Ridge and Madleon streets
should have maintance when the streets are oiled. A general discussion followed.
C. "obert Ohse then requested the the north half of Jefferson Street be vacated.
a general disaussion followed. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Hayden
that said street be vacated. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted
aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Florence , Hayden and Miahell.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
