ApniX:1 149 1966 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the mayor and aldermen of the united city of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois, held at the city hall on April 14, 1966 at 8:00 P.M. .G erk Larson called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present. 1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman 2nd ward - Lawrence Gardner, Vernob Florence 3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell Absence, Mayor Madden. The `'lerk then called for nominations for a mayor pro-tem. Alderman Gardner seconded by alderman Florence that Alderman Burroughs be appointed mayor pro-tem. Upon roll ceing taken all aldermen voted aye. The clerk then read the minutes of the regular montly meeting held on March March 11, 1966. Said minutes were ordered approved. Mayor pro-tem Burroughs then interdouced the city officials to group of students from the Yorkville High school who will act as ]hhe city officials on May 13, 1966, The monthly police report was then subimtted by Chief Martyn. This was approved as read. The report on the water dep=X tment and streets and alleys submitted by James 13rice, Said report was approved as read. A general discussion was held on purchasing a new blade for the tractor. H. G. Dickson Compnay offered one for $321.00 less $130.00 trade in price for the old J31ade. (Total price of $191.00) Alderman Mttchell seannded by alderman Coleman that the City purchase said blade. Upor roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. Arlie P. Lough then reported on building permits issued. Mr. Lough also requested clairfication of plastic drainage systems for home construction. Mr. Frank Willman of undall plumbing and heating then gaiae a short talk o$ the use and gdabilit��bf``plAstic soil pipe for home use. Alderman Coleman seconded by alderman Gardner to change the building code to alow use of plastic drainage system within the home only. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. The clerk then read the street bids which were opened at 1:00 o'Clock P.M. they were as follows: Davis Coast Co., $5429.10 Stahl Const Co. , 5486.60 Aurora Blacktop 5272.40 OtBiren and Son 5401.00 Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Coleman to accept low bfd of Aurora Blacktop for steet repairs. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Fl&rence, Hayden and Mitchell. FORM 801-49®U.S.A. The clerk then read a request by the Salvation Army to have it's donut day in yorkville on May 7th. Alderman Coleman seconded by alderman Mitchell that this be allowed. Upon roll all aldermen voted aye. A general discussion was had on sewer extension on Bristol Road, park and Jackson Streets. Walter E .Deucher and Assoc, estimated the cost at $10,600.00. This was tabled until a later meeting. It was requested that the pang file a certificate of insurance with the city clerk. An Ordinance entitled"An ordinace of the Unitedc_City of the Village of Yorkville declaring the storing of Junk, Trash, and refuse or sthe storing and parking of unoperationable automobiles, motorbikes or trucks on private properity to be a nuisance. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Florence "to accept said ordin- ance, Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye, burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell. The Hirundo Salisb ry petition to rezone lot 1 and 2 Block 11 orginial village of Yorkville f*n from residential to apartment. Alderman Coleman seconded by alderman Gardner to refer this to the zommining board of appeals. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
