MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY METING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON FEBRUARY
10, 1966 AT 8:00 P.M.
In the absence of Mayor Madden the clerk asked for nominations for a mayor
pro Tem. Alderman Burroughs was nominated by alderman Coleman seconded by
alderman Florence. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye.
The clerk then called the roll and the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Roger Bruuroghs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Laurence Gardner, Vernon Florence
3rd ward - Richard Mitchell.
Absent, Duane Hayden
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular montfij�y meeting of the Mayor
and Aldermen held on January 13, 1966. Said minutes were ordered approved.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
James Price then gave the monthly report on the water department and the
streets aid alleys which was ordered approved.
Chief Martyn then submitted the police report which was ordered approved.
Mr. Charles Doestchman and John Wayne of hhe Yorkville Grade School board
and George Cies presented a digram of the grade school area and the the
traffic problems. A gneral discussion follwoed. Alderman Coleman seconded
by alderman Gardner that the city shall paint cross walk marks on the street,
cinder the drive around the school when icy, and to erect the necessary 20
Miles Per Hour speed limit signs. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen
voted aye. Burroughs , Coleman, Gardner, Florence, _Mitchell.
Alderman Gardner then gave a reoprt of the activities of the water committiee
in regards to the proposed water tank.
Attorney Ohse then presented a resolution to the Housing and Urban Development
Committiee to obtain application for a Federal Grant. Alderman Mitchell seconded
by alderman Gardner to accept said resolution. Upon roll being tar:en all alder-
men voted aye.
The Yearly work permit for the Division of Highways was presented. Alderman
Gardner seconded by alderman Florence to accept said resolution. Upon roll
being taken all aldermen voted aye.
Alderman Coleman then reported on the purchase of the new radio in the police
department.
Alderman Mitchell then made a motion that the Chairman of the finance committiee
shal be able to sign checks in the absence of the Mayor, Clerk, or Treasure.
Alderman Gardner seconded this motion. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted
aye.
A general discussion was had on McNeils removing stumps for the city at the
cost of $4.00 per stump.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
