MINUTES OF THE REGUALR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON JANUARY
13, 1966 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Lawrence Gardner, Vernon Florence
3rd Ward - Duane Hapden, Richard Mitchell
The clerk then read the minutes of the regualr monthly meeting of the Mayor and
Aldermen held on December 9, 1965- Said minutes were ordered approved.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
James Price then gave the monthly report on the water department and streets
and alleys. He next passed around the annual report of the activates of the
water department. A generilidiscussion followed.
Chief Martyn then gave the months y report of the activites of the police
department as well as the annual report. A general discussion followed.
Arlie Lough then gave the annual report of the building inspect6r6•
Gene Gordon of Walter E. Deuchler And Assoc. then reported that in order
to o}itain a traffic light at Somonauk and Bridge street there must be
1120 cars and 320 childred in a two hour period.
Mr. "ordon then presented the the maintance estimate for the comming
year under Motor Fuel Taxes. (See att ched sheets) Alderman Hayden
seconded by alderman Mitchell. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted
aye.
C. Robert Ohse then reported on the new Illinois Statutes in regards to
cur-few . He reported that the City ordinance would be invaild and should
be the same as the state. Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell
for Attorney Ohse to draw up the new cur-few ordinance. Upon roll being taken
all adlerman voted aye.
The clerk then opendd bids for the new police car. They are as follows:
Zentmeyer Ford 1600.00
Owen Kane Ford 2221.73
Lips Chevrolet 1493.00
Alderman Mitchell then made a motion to accept low bid of Lies Chevrolet.
Alderman Gardner seconded this and all alderman voted aye.
A general discussion was had on ourchasing a new radio for the police car.
Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Mitchell for the police committiee
to purchase said radio for the police cat. Upon roll being taken all aldermen
voted aye.
A general discussion was had on rasing the garbage removal rates to $350.00
per month. This was tabled for more study.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
