14INUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON NOVEMBER
11, 1965 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward Lawrence Gardner, Vernon Florence
3rd ward Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
The clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on October
14, 1965- Said minutes were ordered approved.
The clerk then read the bills as follows: 420.00

James Price then gaioe the report on the water department and streets and alleys
said report was ordered approved:
The police report was presented and a report on the police conference attended
by Chief Martyn.

Ellsworth P. Windett then gave the city the new workman's Comp and Liab insurance
policy.and the police imdemenity police. A general discussion followed.
A general discussion was held on extending night watch service to the "Y" routes
47 and 34. This was refered back to the police committie for study.
A general discussion was had on stop and go lights for Main and Bridge Streets.
Mr. Archie Bieritz then requested an additional ' 100.00 per month for garbage
collection. This was refered back to committiee for study.
Chief Martyn was requested to check on an open septic tank at the Earl Rienboldt
home on Park and Bridge Street.
A general Discussion follwoed on sewer for Walnut Street, Liberty St. and
Washington Streets. This was tabled.
Mayor Madden then- nominated Willie A. Crews as partolman at the Salaryof
$400.00 per month with one week vacation after one year and one day of sick
leave per month up to 14 days. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Coleman
to accept said nomination. The following aldermen voted aye, Burroughs, Coleman,
Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell.
The clerk then opened bids for tires for the IHC truck. They were as follows:

Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman rlorence to accept the low bid of
Southtown Texaco. The following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman,
Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell.
Mr. Terry Rowell of the Rogers Company then explained plans for the 12_4th
annaversery of Kendall County.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
