August 1:9, 1965 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON AUGUST 129 1965 AV 8:00 P.M. Mayor Maddencalled the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present: 1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman ' 2nd ward - Lawrence Gardner, Vernon Florence 3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular montly meeting held on July 8, 1965- The clerk then read the bills as follows: Franklin Martyn Sr. , Salary 420.00 Everett Goins, Salary ',400.00 James E. Mr. Joseph Riemenschneider made a complaint about the condition of the streets around his home since the telephone cable has been installed past his home. Alderman Burroughs reported that he had made an inppection of his proterty. A gnnsril discussion followed. The matter was refered back to the street and alley c)mmittiee for study. Mrs. Ed Corniels the requested that the mud be cleaned from the sidewalk on Church street past her home. Mr. Price and Lough were instructed to remove said mud. Mr. James Price then gave the report on the water department and the streets and alleys. Said reports were ordered approved. The clerk then read the recommendations of the Lhnning board of Appeals on the purposed re-zonning of Thomas and Dorothea LeCuyer. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Burroughs to accept recommendations of the Zonning board of appeals and change the zonning from apratment to that of Buriness B-3. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Florence Hayden and Mitchell. The Tax Levey ordinance was then presente and read. Upon mot&on of alderman Coleman seconded Alderman Florence the accept said ordinance. the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell. An ordinance establishing and maintaining a public library and reading room for the use and benifit of the inhabitants of the United City of the Village of Yorkville was read. Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Hayden to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitahell. Alderman F&orence then gave a report on the activities of the receaation committiee, stating the the shuffle borads in the park were abour completed. There being no other business the meeting was ddjourned.
