MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL OB JULY 8, 1965
AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - TIMMIMEMN , Vernon Florence
3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
Absent Lawrence Gardner.
The Clerk then read the kinutes of the regular monthly meeting held on June 10,
1965- Said minutes were ordered approved.

Mrs. R. P. Fisher representing the Yorkville Woman's Club requested the City of
Yorkville to take over and operate the Libary as a tax supported libary. The
Woman's Club to deed over the property to the eity. A general discussion followed.
Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Mitchell to establish and operate a
tax supported libary. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye:
Burroughs, Coleman, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell. Mayes: None absent Gardner.
The clerk then open bid from the following companies:
Lies Chevrolet Sales $4221.00
Zentmeyer Fors 3484.05
Coffman Brothers 3890.00
Yorkville Implement Co. 4713.84
Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Coleman to accept the low bid of Zentmeyer
ford subject to meeting all specifications. Upon roll being taken the following
aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Bdiorence, Hayden and Mitchell.
Mr. Tom LeCuyer the submitted a written request to re-zone the property at the
coroner of Van Emmon and Heustis Street. This was refered bo the zonning commissioi
for action.
The Mayor then re-appointed Donald Dirst to the zoneing boL-rd of apeals for the
term of 5 years. Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said
appointment. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye.
The police report for the month of June was given b y chief Martyn. Said seport
was approved as read.
James Price then gave the monthly report of the water department and the streets
and alleys for the month of June. Said report was ordered approved.

A gneral discussion followed as to when verett Goins should begins his nightly
tour of duty.
The apporations ordinance was read. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman
Coleman to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen
voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell.
Arlie Lough then gave the monthly report of the building inppector.
A gneral discussion was had on establishing a receration committiee to be made
up from alderman and private citizens of Yorkville anda. Alderman Mitchell
seconded by alderman Burroughs to establish said committiee. Upon roll being
taken all aldermen voted aye. Mayor Maddenihen appointed Luther Walker, Emil
Farren, Franklin Harris, Chuck Doonel and Vernon lorence to said committiee.
