MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON JUNE 10,
1965 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Lawrence Gardner, Vernon Florence
3rd Ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
The clerk $hen read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor
and Aldermen held on May 13, 1965- Said minutes were ordered approved.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were referred to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
The monthly police report was read and ordered approved.
The monthly report on the water department and the streets and alleys was read
and ordered approved.
The treasure's monthly report was read and approved.
A general discussion was had on purchasing a new truck. On motion of alderman
Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell that the Public property Committiee meet and
draw up specifications for new truck, with-:ibids'-to be opened on July 8, at 8:00
P.M. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye.
Chief Martyn then requested that the police department be permitted to purchase
new summer uniforms. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman coleman that they
be allowed to purchase said uniforms. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted
aye.
The Bristol-Kendall Fire department was granted permission to use city streets
for the annual 4th of July parade.
A general discussion was had on the JC's using the city hall for meetings. Alder-
man Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell that they be allowed to use the build-
ing with the provisions that there be no food or beverages in the building and
the rent be set at $2.00 per meeting. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted
aye.
A general discussion was had on the Edgewood sub-division. Alderman Burroughs
seconded by alderman Hayden that no building permits be issued until the streets
a finished as to the orginial agreement. Upon roll being taken the following
aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Florence, Hayden and Mitchell.
A general discussion kas had on the little league baseball park on Eas6 Vanemmon
Street. Mayor Madden suggested that a park committiee be set up and the members
be appointed from interested person and members of the city coundil. Alderman
Mitchell seconded by alderman Gardner to appoing saidaDmmittiee and upon roll
being taken all aldermen voted aye.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
