MINUTES OF THE REGUALR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON JANUARY 14,
1965 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present.
1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Delbert Trummel, Lawrence Gardner
3rd ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on December
10, 1965. Said minutes were ordered approved.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The Bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
Chief Martyn then gave the monthly report of� the activities 6f the police dop*-
atrment for the month ofDecember 1964 and the annual report for the year 1964.
Mr. Mike Shiak then requested that a refund of $6.00 dollars be made him from
the Motor Vehile Tax Fund as he had tried to purchase his vehicle tags on Decem-
ber 31, but the City Collector's was closed. He had to purchase his vehicle
tags on January 2 and pay a $2.00 per tag penility. Alderman Hayden seconded
by alderman Mitchell to refund said $6.00 to Mr. Shick. Upon roll being taken
all aldermen voted ayes
Mr. James Price than gave the reoprt of the activities of the water department
and the street and alleys for the month of December. Said report was ordered
approved.
Mr. Gene Gordon of Walter E. Deuchler and Assoc. them submitted a resolution
making State Street and Beecher Street arterial streets. Alderman Trummel
seconded by alderman Burroughs to accept said resolution. Upon roll being
all aldermen voted aye.
The police committiee them made the recommeddation the Chief Martyn's salary
be raised to $400.00 per month effective the first day of January1965• Alderman
Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said recommedation. Upon roll
being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner
Hayden and Mitchel.
A general discussion then followed on a forrestry tax for the city of Yorkville.
Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Gardner €brf-a,:resolutionnthat there�bs-;--
on the ballot in the April 20th election a choice for or against the forrestry
tax in the City of Yorkville. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted
aye. Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden and Mitchell.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
