City Council Minutes 1964 06-11-64 FORM 601-49® U.S.A. June 11, 1964 MINUTES OF THE RFIULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YOWILLE, ILLINOIS .LD AT THE CITY HALL OH JUNE 110 1964 AT 8:00 P.M. Due to the absence of Mayor Madded the clerk called the meeting to order and asked for nominations for a mayor pro-Tem. Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Burroughs nominated alderman Trummel. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. The clerk then took roll call. The following aldermen were present: lst ward Roger Burroughs 2nd ward Delbert Trummel, Lasrence gardner 3rd ward Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell Absent: Mayor Madden and Alderman Coleman. Franklin Martyn then gave the report on the actiiaities of the police depart- ment for the month of May 1964. The clerk then read the apporation ordinance. Alderman Mitchell seconded by aldermangardner to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden and Mithcell. Clarence Merkel requested permission to finish the building started by Richard Mitchell as a home. A petition signed by all ajacent property owners was read. This petition stated that there was no objections to the building being corn l eted. Alderman Haydee made a lotion to let Mr. Merkel finish this building. This was seconded by alderman Gardner. All aldermen voted aye. Arlie Lough, City building inspector then requested clarification as to H. Salisbury tearing down his present garage and building a new one with an apartment upstairs. This was refered to the city attorney . A general discussion was had in regards to raw sewerage being dumped into the Fox River. It was decided that all viloators should be turned into the proper authorities. Alderman Haydee seconded by alderman Burroughs that the fire department be given permission to use the City park and streets on the fourth Of July. All aldermen voiting aye. There b6inng on other business the meeting was adjourned.
