City Council Minutes 1963 12-12-63 FORM 601-4940 O.S.A. December 12, 1963 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the City Council of the United City df the Village of Yorkville, Illinois held at the City hall on December 12, 1963 at 8:00 P.M. In the absence of Mayor Madden the clerk then called the meeting to order and asked for nominations for a mayor pro-Tem. Alderman Coleman seconded by alderman Burroughs that Alderman Trummel be appointed mayor proptem. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. The clerk then took roll call. The following aldermen being present. 1st ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman 2nd ward - Delbert Trummel, Lawrence Gardner 3rd ward - Richard Mitchell absent - Mayor Madddn and Duane Hayden. The minutes of the regualr monthly meeting hall on November 14, 1963 were read and ordered approved. James LPrice then gave the report on the streets and , lleys and the water department also a report on the reppixs at the well. Cheif Martyn the gave the monthly report of the police department, he also presented Alvin Sperms resignation as dog catcher for the city. Alderman Kitchell seconded by alderman Burroughs to assept said resignation. The clerk then read a statement by the Layne—Western Co. of aubora in the amount of $3645.65 for well repairs. A gammml discussion followed3 Alderman Coleman seconded by alderman Gardner to pay $1000.00 on account. The following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Mitchell. Buddy Weiss was then nominated dog catcher for the city at the salary of $2.00 per dog. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman coleman to accept said .nominatioh. All aldermen voted aye. A resolution from the Highway Department was then read by the clerk. (See attached resolution). Alderman Mitchell seconded to accept said resolution subject to approval by city attorney Ohse. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted Aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden and Mitchell. A general discussion was had in regards to the city ,purchasing a snow blade to be attached to the tractor. Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Mitchell to purchase said glade. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. FORM 601-49®U.S.A. The clerk then open a bid from the Lies Chevrolet Sales, yorkville on a par for police department, The bid was in the amount of $2250.00. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Coleman to accept said bid.
