MINUTES OF THE REGUALR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON AUGUST 8,
1963 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden directed the Clerk to call the roll. Upon roll being taken the
fallowing aldermen were present:

tad ward - Delbert Trammel, Lawrence Gardner
3rd ward - Duane Hayden
Absent - Richard Mitchell
The minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on July ll.. 1963 were read
and ordered approved.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
The report on the streets and alleys and the water department was presented
and read by Janos Price. Said report was approved.
A general discussion was had in regards to purchasing a car for the police
departmant. The was refered back to the police committies for #turfy.
A report was given on the water main extension in the Burrough of Bristol.
Engineers Estimate # 1 for the amount of $399000.00 also Engineers Partial
Payment # 1 and preporation of Plans in the amount of $5025.41 and LaVerne
Hanson statement as commissioners of Board of Local Improvements for expenses
and fees in the amount of $600.00 and Cr.Rebert Ohms as attorney for the
Board of Local Improvemnts statement for expenses and fees $3300.00 were sub-
mitted. By notion of Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Gardner the Mayor
and Clerk were authorised to execute voutimus number 1 to Nets Construction
Co., voucher # 2 to Walter E. Beuchler Assoc., Voucher #3 to LaVerno Hanson,
voucher # 4 to C. Robert Ohse in payment of the respective statements. Upon
roll being taken the 8e1lowing aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel,
Gardner, Hayden; Nayes None, Carried.
A resolution was presented for sewer extension as follows:
Washington Street, eas " hill street
Bristol Street from Somenauk to Park
Park Street frog Bristol to Bridge
Walter E. Deuchler and Associates to draw plans and to advertis for bid*.
Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Gardner to accept said resolution.
upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye; Burroughs, Coleman,
Trummel, Gardner, and Hayden.
The Clerk then read a letter from the Department of Public works and Buildings
in regards to street repairs on Bridge Street. This is to be held until the
regular meeting to be held September 12.
The Tax levey ordinance was presented and read. Alderman Trummel seconded
by alderman Coleman to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being-taken- the following
aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner and Hayden.
A general discussion was had in regards to the condition of the alleys that
cores the Railroad tracks. Attorney Ohse to draw up resolution asking the
railroads to repair said corssings.
Mayor Madden then appointed John behrens as collector of Special Asseaaents at
the salary of I % of the amount of funds collected. Upon roll being taken all
aldermen voted a7e:;. Carried.
A general discussion was had in regards to the building of tennis- doiurts in the
city. This was refered back to committiee for study.
There being no other Nusiness the meeting was adjourns.
