Mayor Padden called the meeting to order and directedt he clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being called the following aldermen were present:
13t ward - Rodger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Delbert Trummel, Lawrence Gardner
3rd ward - Duane haydeh; Richard I. tchell
The clerk then read the mir:utes of the re -ular monthly meeting held on April
11, 1963 and the adjourned meeting held on April 18, 1563. Said minutes were
ordered ap Xoved.

James Price gave the report on the streets and alleys for the month of April
and the water department. Said report was ordered approved.
Franklin Llartyr, theft read the monthly re•;ort of police activities in the
city of Yorkville and the resignation of Everett Goins as ,i,ht patrolman.
Alderman Trururr,el seconded by alderman Hayden that tree Goins resignation be
accepted. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye.
Allan 0. Brady submiti.ed a report of the activites df the police magistrate
since taking office. Said report was ordered approved.
George Griffin and Robert Uhse then gave a report on the proposed water main
extension in the Burrough of 2ristoi Alderman Truurel seconded by- alderman
Hayden the the proposed :vatermains be continued as the plans and specifications
now stand. Upon roll bein. taken all aldermen voted aye.
Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Litchell that police magistrate Brady
receive :M311.00 in expenses for office supplies. Upon roll being taken the
following aldermen voted aye? Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden,
and Idtchell.
The clerks estimate .vas then Presented and read. ,
general discussion followed. Alderman Litchell seconded tbyc alderman tGardner
that the clerks estimate be accepted as read. The following aldermen voted
aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden and Ia tchell.
Mayor Fadden then appointed James E. Price supertendent of streets and alleys

and su ertendent of the water �e rtment at the salary of 4^105.00 per week
with 50%) from the General Fund and 50� from the 7"ter fund. He shall have
two weeks paid vac:-tion and sick leave of 1 day der month acc=ulative up to
and not excelling 14 days. on motion of Alderman 1.`itchell seconded by alder-
man t
jiburroughs the appointment was confirmed. The Mayor and city council voting
jointly and unariinously aye.
Mayor Madden then appointed Franklin Dartyn Sr. as chief of police at the
salary of 3360.00 per month and x".75.00 per month car expenses. He shall
receive two creeks paid vacation and 1 day per month sick leave accumulative
up to and riot e;:ceeding 14 days. On motion of alderman lardner seconded
by alderman Trummel the appointment was confirmed. The Mayor and city council
voting; jointly and unamir.ously aye;
Yayor %sadden then appointed C. itobert Ohse as city att.)rney at the salary of
: 20.00 per month plus the privilage of billing the city for extra legal services
preformed. On notion of alderman Mitchell s econded by alderman Gardner the
appointment was confirmed. The Mayor and city council voting jointley and
unaminously aye,
L,ayor L'adden then appointed Arlie P. lough an emplo ee of the streets and
alleys and the water department at the salary of '.360.00 per month with 50%
to be paid from the 'leneral Fund and 50% from the Tater Fund. He shall have
two weeks paid vacation and 1 day per month sick leave accumulative' up to -and
not exdeding 14 days. can motion of hlderman Yitchell seconded by alderman
Coleman .t'her appointment was confirmed. The mayor and city council

Mayor madden then appointed Jess Dunkle as auxilary patrolman at the salary
of 2',100.00 Pe: month with the privilage of billing for expenses. alderman
Burrou -hs seconded by alderman Coleman confirmed the appointmant. The Mayor
and council voting jointly and unaminously :.ayg.
Mayor sadden then appointed Arthur Riemenschneider as buildl.ng inpsector at
the salary of $5.00 per inspection and the privilage of hiring deputy's as
needed. alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Hayden confirmed the app-
ointment. The 1"ayor and c.-)until taoting jointly and unamously.
