MINUTES OF THE RE('xULAR MONTHLY 177 STING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE
UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE CITY HALL
ON OCTOBER 11, 1962 AT 8:00 P.".
Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call
the roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
lst ward - Rodger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd ward - Lawerence G rdner
3rd watd - Duane "aydeh, Richard Mitchell
Absent, Delbert Trummel
The clerk then read the minutes from the meeting held on September 13, 1962.

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found Correct.
The treasure's report was given. A general di: cussionvps had on same. Alder-
man Hayden seconded by alderman Cardner to transfer $2000.00 from the Sewer
Extension Fund to the General Fund. Said money to be retdrned to Sewer Extension
Fund upon payment by Boncar Const Co., Upon rollbeing taken the following
aldermen voted Aye: Burroughs, Coleman, GaT"dnsr, Hayden and h`itchell. Carried.
The report on the water department and the streets and alleys was read by
James Price. Said report accepted.
The police report was read by Chief Eartyn and said report accpted.
A general discussion was had on truck parking on Bridge Street from Van Emmon
Street to Hydraulic Street, also on parking on Hydraulic Street in front of
the post office. This was refered to the street and alley committiee for
study.
chief Martyn requested permission to attend the police convention at Peoria
from October 21 to OctobF•r 23, 1962. Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman
Coleman that 'Jhief Martyn be given permission and expense money in the amount
of $25.00. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs
Coleman, Gardner, Hayden and Ylitchell.
Mayor Madden then informed the City Counicl that the Illinois Municipal League
convention will be held in Springfiled, Illinois froj. October 21st to 23rd.
Alderman Gardner seconded by alderman Coleman that any city officals attending
should receive 8� per mile, registration fees and hotel costs. Upon roll oeing
taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, ardner,
Hayden and R;itchell.
Richard Sidlo then presented a petition and paid filing charges for re-zoning
his properity .on Bridge Street and Somonauk Street. The Clerk was then instructec
tk notify the clerk of theZoning Boark of appeals.
Leonard Olson, Chairman of the zoning board of appeals submited his regignation
effective this date. Mayor Madden then appointed George '"alter, a member of the
zoning board of appeals as charman. Mayor Madden then appointed Leonard Olson
a member of the zoning board of appeals.
A general discusson was had on construction of VanEmmon Street, from Mill Street
east to the "ity limits. Alderman Burroughs seconded by alderman Kitchell
to let the bids for this work and the the successful bidder to do work in the
Spring. Upon roll being taken the f ollowign aldermen voted aye: Burroughs,
Coleman, Gardner, Hayden and Mitchell.

A general dicussion was had oh the City purchasing a used tractor. The Street
and alley committiee was instructed to take this under advisement and report
at the next regular meeting.
A petition was read by the residents of Somoanauk Street (Nest from Bridge)
asking that a water f.,ain be installed there. A general discussion was had
on same.
City attorney Ohse then presented an Ordinance creating a borad of local
impro vements. Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Burroughs.to accept
said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye:
Burroughs, Coleman, 'Gardner, Hayden and Mitchell.
Mayor Madden then App,-inted Aldermen "urroughs, Coleman, Gardner, Trummel,
Hayden and Mi chell as members of theboard of Local improvements.
