CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL ON JULY
LE, 1962 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Madden called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being called the following aldermen were present:
lst Ward - Roger Burroughs, Robert Coleman
2nd Ward - Delbert Trummel, Lawarence Gardner
3rd Ward - Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
The minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on June 14, 1962 were read
and ordered approved.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

James Price gave,,the,�report on the water department -And the streets and alleys
for the month of June. Mr. Price also requested that he be allowed to tkke
his vacation during the first two weeks of August. Permission was granted for
said vacation time.
The police report for the month of June was read by Chief Martyn and approved.

A general discussion was had on the ditch on the west side of Route 47 along
the Salisbury property. The State said they provide the material and the city
to furnish labor the the and fill: said ditch.
A general discussion was had on parking lots in the business district. The
Kendall lodge of the Masons said that they would lease the land behind the
Yorkville hardware Store for $1.00 per year if the City would build and
matain said parking lot. This was tabled until a later date.
A general discussion was had on the bank parking lot. On motion of alderman
Trummel seconded by alderman Burroughs the city to pay $700.00 over a period of
three years and furinsh tile for the creek passing though said land. Upon roll
being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel,
Gardner aRt Hayden and Mitchell.
Alderman Mitchell gave a report on Libality Insurance coverage for the City of
Yorkville, and this was taken under advisement for uncreasing the coverage for
the City.

alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Trummel that the

aldermen voted aye: Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden and Mitchell.
A resouliton was presented stating that there were no changes in the prevaling
wage rates in the city of Yorkville. Alderman Hayden seconded by Alderman
Mitchell to accept said resolution. Upon roll being taken the following alder-
men voted aye : Burroughs, Coleman, Trummel, Gardner, Hayden and Mtichell.
Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Trummel to pay $50.00 from the General
Fund to Charles Schumarcher and George Whitfield for services in numbering the
Streets in the City of Yorkville.
The clerk was instructed to adirertise for bids for street repairs as soon as
necessary papers are returned from Elgin District Offic.
There being no futhur business the meeting was adjourned.
