City Council Minutes 1962 03-08-62 March 8, 1962 FORM 601-49®,U.S.A. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEM OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL ON THURS* DAY MARCH 819 1962 AT 8:00 P.M. Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present: 2nd Ward, Williati-�ftdndlaucafidcDeliJert Trummel 3rd Ward, Duane Hayden and Richard Mitchell Absent, None. The clerk then read the minutes of the previous monthly meeting held on February 8, 1962 and were ordered approved. The monthly report for February on the Streets and Alleys and the Water Department was submitted by James Price. Chief Martyn gave the February report on police activities in the City. A general discussion was had on the Hankes property at the coroner of Bridge Street and Hydraulic Ave. Alderman Trummel was instruced to meet with the Farm Breay on obtaining additional land for use as a parking lot. Mr. Price was instructed to see if thbi.kreek could be tiled and covered with fill. Mayor Windett appointed the following person to serve as election ,judges on the Municipal election to be held on Tuesday, April 17, 1962 as follows: 1st ward LaVone Johnson, Rose Hinckley, Mildred Barkley, Harry Stading Martin Behrens 2nd ward Chakles Schumacher, Carl Schobert, Arthur Hubbard, Madaline Morris, Eunicd Cies 3rd ward William Hayden, Earl Hasemeyer, Clara Rieliy, Madge Renniger Ruby Kellner The Ordinance creating the office of Police Magistrate was presented and read. Alderman Randles seconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said ordinannc. upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Randles Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Alderman Trummel seconded by alderman Hajtden that the salary for police magistrate be set at one hundred dollars per month and that his office hours shall be between 9 AM and 4 PM and he shall also work ten hours per week. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. The ordinance to re-zone the Dickson property on the coroner of Hydraulic ave and Mains Street was presented (See Ordinance Book) . Upon motion of alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said ordinance the following aldermen voted aye: Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. A general discussion was had on a Cerfu Ordinance. This was tabled iintill a later date. A general discussion was had on garbage removal. Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Randles that the present garbage contract be extended for ambh year and that Mr. Bieritz be paid an addition) $25.00 per month and that Mr. Bieritz keep the dump leveled for this amount. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Two bids were presented by Mr. Price for the purchase of a used j Tone truck for the water department. Alderman Randles Seconded by alderman Hayden that a 1960 " Ton Internation Harvester be prucahsed from the York- ville implement Co. for the price of $1050.00 pluss tax. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. FORM 601-49 ®.U.S.A. Mr. Price submitted a bid from the Yorkville Body Shop in the amount of $172.98 for repairs and painting of the 1956 GMC Truck. Alderman Randles seconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said bid. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. The being no futhur business the meeting was adjourned. Cljrk
