MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY M77TING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDER EEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VII-AGE OF YORKVILIE, HELD AT THE VIL-AGE HALL ON THURSDAY JULY 13,
1961 AT 8:CO P.m.
Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present:
1st ward - Russell Hughes, Elden Madden
2nd wDrd - Delbert Trummel
3rd ward- Duane Hayden, Richard Mitchell
The clerk the read the minutes of the regular monthly meeting held on June 82 1961.
Said minutes were ordered a;,aroved.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committiee to be paid if found correct.
The police report for the month of June was given by Chief Martyn.
James Price gave the report on the water department and the streets and alleys.
Mr. Robert Yule asked about the prospects for sewers on East Washington St.
A general discussion was had on same. Mr. Yule stated that the residents
on East uVash*ngton st. were will to pay the cost of the sewer main themselves.
It was refered back to.the health committiee for futhur study.
Alderman Hughes reported that Mr. James Peterson was ready to sign the easement
agreement for the sanitary sewers to cross his property.
A general discussion was had on the sewers for the new Smith home on Jefferson
Street. The sewer committiee was instructed to meet with Mr. Smith on this
matter.
The Walter Olson sub-division , Edgewood Addition, was presented to the city
council for acceptance. On motion of alderman Hayden seconded by alderman
Mitchell to accept said subdivision provided that the sub-divider provide
water, street, and to use septic tanks were praticle. Upon roll being taken
the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden, trummel, Hayden and Mitchell.
Carried and so ordered.
A general discussion was had on forrestry tax. It was decided to pring this
up in the next eldction and let the voters decide on the matter. Jones and illman
were hired to cut dead trees on city property as far as finances would let them.
The Municipal service tax was discussed and tabled until the next regular meeting
to ,.e held on August 10, 1961 to find but more information on said tax.
Alderman Hughes seconded by alderman Hayden to move the sewer on Orange Street
ten lineal feet south. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye;
nughes, Madden, Trummel, Hayden, and Yitchell.
Mayor ?Tindett instructed the health committiee to meet with 11r. Clarence "elson
and try to work out an agreement with him to use an abandon gravel pit for
garbage.
There being no futhur bmsiness the meeting was adjourned untill July 27, 1961
for the purpose of iwoting on the Apporation ordinance.
