MINUTES OF THE REGULAR 11ONTHLY 17T,'TING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE ':'ILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, H-LD AT THE VILLAGE HALL ON THURSDAY JUNE
8, 1961 AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and direct4d the clerk to call the
roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present;

Mayor 'Nindett then instructed the clerk to read the minutes of the May 11th
meeting and said minutes were approved as read.
The clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committie to be p id if Bound correct.
The report on streets and alleys and the water dep,,>rtment was given and accepted
The police report for the monthe was given and accepted.
A general discussion was had on building a byicle rack adjacent to the fence
on Madison street at the village hall. James Price was instruced to build
said rack.
A discussion was had in regards to the Valley Tradeing Center now occupying the
Old Breese Farme Equipment Building. Chief of Police Martyn was insturcted to
write a letter to the Valley Trading Center requesting that the street and side
walk in front of the building be emptied of merchandise.
A general discussion was had in regards to the sewer for the new Smith home.
It was decided to contact the City Engineers to see if it is possible to go
south on Jefferson Street and on between the Smith and Bud porperty to Franklin
Street.
On motion of Randles seconded by alderman Hayden to send the Carlson Const Co.
$1000.00 from the Motor Vehicle Tax Fund if the funds are avaliable. Upon roll
being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Madden, Randles, Trummel, nayden,
and Mithhell. Uarried.
The Bristol-Kendall Fire Dis",rict requested permission to use the park on the
fourth of July and also srounding streets. Mayor windett granted this permission.
A discussion was had on the Public Service Company's moving the service crew from
yorkville and closing the station here. On motion of alderman Hayden seconded
by alderman Mitchell that Mayor Nindett write to Mr. destby of the public service
Company that the service crew remain in Yorkville so that we may recise better
service from said company. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted
aye: Madden, "andles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Carried.
The health committiee reported that they had hired Stuart Betz to level the
city dump at the cost of $500.00. This will also leave a stock pile of dirt
for future leaveling.
There being no futhur business the meeting was adjourned.
