City Council Minutes 1961 03-09-61 Minutes of March 9, 1961 Meeting, of United City of Yorkville Meeting called to order by Mayor Windett at City Hall, Yorkville, Illinois, March 9,1961 at 8:00 P.T.T. Present were :Mayor Windett , aldermen Hughes, Madden, Randle$, Trummel , Hayden and Mitchell. Absent was Clerk Larson. Mayor Windett appointed James E.Price to act as clerk Pro-Tem for the meeting. P-Tinutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with on motion of Hayden} seconded by Trummel and carried. The following bills were read and on motion by Trammel, seconded by Hayden reffered to finance committee to be paid if found correct. Voitirg aye were Hughes, Madden, Randles, T rummel ,Haydea and Mitchell. Nays -none. Bids were opened for garbage pickup. The bid of Archie Biertz of Yorkville, accompanied by check of 101 being the lowest, it was moved by Hayden, seconded by Padden that the City accept said bid. Voting aye were Hughes, Madden, Randles , Trummel , Hayden and Mitchell. Nays-none. Balance in the General Fund was $ 1782.00 Balance in the Water Fund was 0947.36 Audit committee were Riven copies of unpaid miscellaaeous bilks in General and Water funds to March 31 ,1961 prepared by Treasurer and Superintendent of Water and Streets. These were rebilled. police i4� ,ead by Chief Martyn and ordered filed. Report of Street and Water Departments for February was read by Superintendent Price and. ordered filed. Clerk read amendment to existing water ordinance proposed by water committee. After discussion it was moved by Madden , seconded by Mitchell that Amended ordinance be adopted an read. Voting aye were Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel , Hayden and Mitchell. Nays-none. Motion by Randles, seconded. by Hughes that James E. Price be appointed owners inspector for City of Yorkville on present sewer construction in city by Boncar Construction Company. Voting aye were all aldermen, Nay -nonw. Motion by Trammel , seconded by Madden that City go along with James C.Dunkle and Imperial Construction, Naperville in paying one-half of total $500.00 bid for repair of sidewalk south side of W. VanLmmon street. Voting aye were Hughes,Madden,Randles, T rummel ,Hayden and Mitchell. Nays-none. Carl Dunger brought in request for possible rededication of extension of west end of Somonauk street into Cemetary on a somewhat more narrow basis than present ordinance requires due to previous unrecorded property exchanges and survey differences. After discussion the matter was reffe*ed to the street and alley committee and attorney Ohse for further recommendations. Members of the Student Council of the Yorkville present introduced themselves and requested their wish to operate the vv^ity on April 13, 1961 as has been done in previous years. Permission was granted and mayor Windett asked each councilman to show his counterpart on the Student group his or her part of the City operation.
