Mayor Windett then read a letter form Mr. Garrison thanking Chief Martyn and the City Council for their coperation during the last school year. The amendment to the Building Code was presented and read by the city attorney. Alderman Hayden aeconded by alderman Mitchell to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madddn, Randles, Hayden and Mitchell. Absent Trummel, Carried: The Clerks estimate was presented and read; a general dieassion was had on same. Alderman Randles seconded by alderman Hayden to accept the estimate. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye. Hu bes, Madden, Randles, Hayden and Mitchell. Absent Trummel, Carried:. Mayor Windett nominated C. Robert Ohse as City Attorney to be paid a retainer of $20.00 per month plus the privilege of billing the City f®r extra legal services performed. On motion by Alderman Randles, seconded by alderman Hayden the appointment was confirmed. The council and mayor voted jointly and unanimously aye. Mayor Windett nonimated James E. Price for Superintendent of streets and alleys and superintendent of Water and special partolman to receive as compensation for the same a salary of $10.00 per week. Said salary to be paid 50"' from the general fund and 50�r from the water fund. In addition thereto said employee shall be entitled to a 2 week vacation with pay and credited withl day sick leave per month accumulative up to and not exceeding 14 days. Upon motion of alderman Hayden, seconded by alderman Randles the appointment was confirmed. The council and mayor voted jointly and unanimously aye. Mayor Windett nominated Franklin Martyn Sr., for Chief of Police at the salary of $350.00 per month plus X75.00 per month car expense. He Shall be entitled to 2 weeks paid vacation per year and credited for 1 day sick leave per month accumulative up to and not exceding 14 days. Upon motion of AldermanHughes secondec by aldermanMitchell, the apointment was confirmed. The Mayor and aldermen boted jointley and unanimoully aye. Mayor Windett nominated Arthur Riemenschneider as Building Inspector to serve at the pleasure of the council and to be paid a minuet of : 15.00 per building application with the authorty to hire deputies when necessary. The deputies shall receive minimun compensation of x`5.00 per inspection. The building inpector shall subim monthly reports and shall bill monthly.ic' Upon motion of alderman Mithcell seconded by alderman Hayden the apointment was confirmed. The Mayor and aldermen voted jointley and unamimously aye. Mayor Windett nominated Everett Goins for Night Partol and Fire 'Match and auxilary patrolman at the salary of $200.00 per month and if and when serving as auzillary partolman at the salary of X1;75 per hour, also car expenses of $2.00 per day. He shall be entitled to one weeks vacation with payyafter on year. Upon motion of Alderman Hughes seconded by alderman Randles the apointment was confirmed. The Mayor and council voted jointly and unaminoulsy aye. Mayor Windett nominated 'Jess Dunkle auxulary partolman at the salary of $1.00 per hour plus reasonalbe expenses. Upon mot-on of Aldeman Hughes seconed by alderman Randles the apointment was confirmed. The Mayor and Aldermen voted jointley and unamimously aye. Mayor Windett nominated Charles E. Barid to the office of city collector. He shall have approved by the board a bond with corporate assurity to be approved by the board said bond to be in the amount of #3000.00. Upon motion of at Alderman Randles seconded by alderman Hayden the appointment was confirmed. The mayor and aldermen voting jointley and unanimoudly aye. Upon motion of Alderman Mithhell seconded by alderman Kayden that all appointed officials whose bond has not heretofore been fixed shall file and have approved a 5100.00 Bond. Upon roll being taken all aldermen votedaye. Carried. Madden Trummel Sewer Randles Hayden Hughes Upon motion of alderman Madden seconded by alderman Hughes for authorky for 'Salter E. Deuchler and assoc. to work with the sever committiee to formulate plans for sewer expansion. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted We: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Hayden and Mitchell. Chief Martyn was insturcted to contact Mr. Darnell to see if the city could try the radar for traffic control for one month. Their being no futhur business the meeting was adjourned.
