City Council Minutes 1960 04-21-60 April 21, 1960 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERIM OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON APRIL 21, 1960 AT 8:00 P.M. Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll: Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present: 1st ward Russell Hughes Elden Madden 2nd ward 17illiam Randles Delbert Trummel 3rd ward Duane Hayden Richard Mitchell The clerk then read the minutes from the previous meeting and were ordered approved. Conover's first sub-division was presented to the city council for anproval. Upon motion of alderman Hughes seconded by alderman Randles that said plot be accepted subject to changing the name vrnri Village to City. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, 11adden, Randles, Tru-mmel, Ilavden and hithceli. The clerk then read a petition submittkd against the r►nerican Legion receving a liquor license and the taverns being open on sundays. . Mr. Stalzer and Mr. Paulson operators -of the two taverns in the Citv-,lirti is then gave their opions y General discussion then followed. Aldermen Randles seconded by alderman Trurunel then moved t6-reconsider on the basis of the petition. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen iroted ave: Hughes, Handles Trummel, Hayden, Nayes "Lad 'en and Mithcell. Carried. On motion of Alderman Hayden to reconsider club license for the American Legion seconded alderman Hughes. Upon voice roll call being taken all aldermen voted aye. Carried. On motion of Alderman Hayden to grant club licnese to the American Legion for the fee; of $100.00 per year and subject to the same opening and closing hours of the other taverns, namely open on week d:ys form 7 to 12 and open saturday 7 to 1 PM.This was secondec by alderman Mitchell. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Madden, Hayden, and Mitchell, Nayes Hughes, Randles, Trummell, Being a tie vote Mayor Wlindett cast an Aye vote, Carried. Alderman Madden seconded by Alderman Mitchell to reconsider the retail liquor license. Upon voice roll call being taken all aldermen voted aye. Carried. On motion by Alderman Mithcell to let the taverns remain open an hour longer 7 AM to 1 PM. on saturday nights. This motion was seconded by alderman Iiughes. U?on roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden, Hayden and Mithhell. Nayes Randles and Turmmell. Carried. On motion of Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman Madden to pass the new liquor ordinance Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Madden, Hayden, Mitchell. Nayes Hughes, Randles, Trummel. Being a tie vote I"ayor windett cast an Aye tote. Carriedl The clerk then opened and read the garbgge bid of archie Bieritz. It was for the amount of $50.00 for 52 weeks and $25.00 per week extra for the 12 weeks of tiwce waekley pick-up. A ganeral discussion was had on said bid and on motion of alderman Randles seconded by alderman Mitchell to acept said bid the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and ]Mitchell. Carried. The Northern Illinois Gas company franchise was read and on notion of alderman Hughes seconded by alderman Madden to accept said ordinance. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and XLthcell. A discussion was had on amending the building code to the underwiters specifications. On motion of Alderman Hughes seconded by alderman Randles to amend said building code the following aldermen voted aye; Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mithcell. The results of the Canvas of the April 19th election was presented and upon motion of Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Madden to acceptsaid canvas the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Upon motion of alderman Randles seconded by alderman Trummel to write a checl on the Motor Fuel Tax fund in the Farmers State Bank to the Motor Fuel Tax fund in the National Bank. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. Carried.
