City Council Minutes 1959 05-21-59 May 21, 1959 AN ADJOURNED ME.ETING OF THE CITY CCUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON MAY 212 1959. Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen were present: lst Ward- Russell Hughes 2nd 'yard- William Randles 2nd Ward- Delbert Trammel 3rd Ward- Duane Hayden 3rd Ward- Richard Mitchell A progress report on water and sewer work was given by Walter Dechuler and Associates. Engineers Estimate #1 pursuent to contract with the W. J. Lewis Construction Company was presented. Upon motion of Alderman Tuummel seconded by Alderman Randles to be paid from the water fund. Upon roll being taken all aldermen voted aye. A discussion was had concerning the appointment of a special city attorney to prosecute cases that arise concerning zoneing violations. Upon motion by Randles seconded by Hayden it was moved that Fred Dean, an attorney of Aurora, Illinois be appointed, to serve at the pleasure of the Council, to act as a special city attorney Bor the sole purpose of prosecuting cases of zoning villations, without compensation, and that the said Fred Daan be advised of his appointment and directed to file an oath of office, his duties to commence upon the filing of said oath. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Discussion was had concerning tree removal from the Frank Sharp property as per agreement. The W. J. Lewis Constructi n Company contracted to remove same for the sum of $150.00. Where upon by motion of Alderman Mithc ell seconded by alder- man Hayden moved that the village pay Lewis $150.00 for removal os same upon receipt of bill. Verne D. Riemenshcneider appeared before the council In regards to the location of his home on the lot. A General Discussion was had on same and Mr. Rieminschneider has the privillage to met with the Zonning board of appeals for a hearing. The Building and Zonning Committiee was instructed to meet with Mr. Robert Smith, Building Inspector in regards to his duties. A discussion was had on the construction of the Garner building in the Price addition, Due to fauilty construction and not being up to the building code a stop order is to be issued. The apporiation ordinance was presented and read. Upon motion of alderman Mithhell seconded by alderman Randles the said ordinance was accepted. Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye, Hughes, Randles, Trammel, Hayden, and Mitchell Hayes N.ne, Absent Madden, Carried and so ordered. There being no futher business the meeting was adjourned. r Clerk
