Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to call the roll.
Upon roll being taken the foll_::wing aldermen were present.

Minutes of the regular monthly meting of the Mayor and Aldermen held on December
11, 1958 were read and ordered approved.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the finance committee to be paid if found correct.
The police report for the ontn of December was read and ordered approved.
The report on streets and alleys and water departement was read and ordered approved.
A general discussion was had on the water main extensions for the Bourrough of
Bristol. Upon mot�.on of Alderman Hayden seconded by alderman Hughes that the
Mayor and. clerk mdmx execute contracts with the 11. J. Lewis Co. (See a`tached
resolution) . Upon roll being taken the following aldermen voted aye: Huahes,
I7adden, Randles, Hayden and 14itchell. Noyes: none, Absent I'rummel. Carried.
A discussion was had to cross the river with water mains. Upon motion of alderman
Hayden seconded by alderman la,�dles that the city attorney make application to
cross river. Upon rollbeing taken the following aldermen voted aye, Hughes, 'r1adden
Randles, Hayden and E,Iitchell. Mayes: none. ahsent Tru-riel. Carried and so ordered.
A general discussion was had on a billboard ordinance and was refered back to committiee
for furtr:ur study.
A report was given and a general discussion on dutch elm disease and control.
An ordinance was presented to vacate the allev at the old marshall residence.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the bids of the W. J. Lewis Construction
Company for water main extension and sewer extension were
the lowest bid received for each project, and
WHEREAS, it is to the best interests of the
United City of the Village of Yorkville, that said bids
be each severally accepted and that the said W. J. Lewis
Construction Company and the United City execute contracts
for each of said jobs.
Now Therefore Be It Resolved, that the bids of
the W. J. Lewis Construction Company each be accepted
subject to the said Company filing, within thirty (30)
days, a bond for each job with approved surety, and
other insurance certificates in accordance with each
of the contract forms.
Be It Further Resolved, that upon receipt of is
the above bonds, insurance certificates and executed
contracts, that the Mayor and Clerk of the United City
be, and they are hereby authorized, to immediately execute
both contracts on behalf of the United City of the Village
of Yorkville.
