City Council Minutes 1958 11-24-58 MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR
MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORK-
VILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
HELD AT THE YORKVILLE VILLAGE HALL
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1958s AT THE
HOUR OF 8 OICLOCK P .M.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Ellsworth
P. Windett. The City Clerk being absent; upon motion of the Mayor,
seconded by William Randles, C. Robert Ohse was appointed Clerk
Pro-Tem for the meeting.
Upon the roll being called, the following Aldermen
answered present: First Ward - Russell C. Hughes
Second Ward - Delbert Trummel and William Randles
Third Ward - Richard Mitchell and Duane Hayden
Absent: Elden Madden.
The Clerk Pro-Tem then stated that sealed proposals- were
to be received for the water main and sanitary sewer extensions at
the hour of 8 o' clock P.M. The Clerk then proceeded to read the
advertisement for bids, a copy of which is attached hereto and ex-
pressly made a part of these minutes. Upon direction of the Mayor,
the bids were then opened and read by the Clerk; said bids being
as follows : For Sanitary Sewers -
W. J. Lewis Construction Co.- - - - - 17 ,065.00
Valley Excavating Co. - - - - - 36,903.50
For Water Mains -
W. J. Lewis Construction Co.- - - - - 29,690.00
Valley Excavating Co. - - - - - - - - 48,283.30
There being no further bids, the bidding was declared closed. Upon
motion by Alderman Hughes, seconded by Alderman Trummel, it was moved
that action on said bids be deferred until the next regular meeting
of the Board of the City Council. Carried and so ordered.
The Clerk Pro-Tem then presented and read in full an
ordinance entitled "Traffic Ordinance". Upon completion of the same,
it was moved by Alderman Hayden, seconded by Alderman Mitchell, that
said ordinance be adopted. Upon the roll being called, the following
Aldermen answered "Aye" : Hughes, Trummel, Randles, Mitchell and
Hayden - "Nays" : None. Carried and so ordered.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
upon motion of Alderman Ran les, seconded by Alderman Trummel, said
meeting was adjourned.
