City Council Minutes 1958 09-18-58 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD ON SEPTEMBER 18, 1958s AT 8 O'CLOCK P.M. AT THE YORKVILLE HIGH SCHOOL PURSUANT TO NOTICE BY THE MAYOR The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Ellsworth P. Windett, pursuant to the special notice: said notice being as follows: "You are hereby notified of a special council meeting to be held at 8:00 P.M. - Sept. 18-58, at the Yorkville High School for the purpose of acting upon the engineers water and sewer report". Wayne Larson, City Clerk, being absent, C. Robert Ohse was appointed Clerk ProTem for the meeting. The Mayor directed the Clerk ProTem to call the roll; upon the roll being called, the following aldermen were present: Aldermen Madden, Hughes and Trummel. The following aldermen were absent: Aldermen Hayden, Mitchell and Randles. A discussion was had with the Yorkville High School School Board concerning the engineerts water and sewer report and the action that the two boards would take concerning the same. After a discussion being had; upon motion by Alderman Trummel, seconded by Alderman Madden, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Yorkville High School Board has offered to construct a sanitary sewer line from the Yorkville High School to the Yorkville-Bristol Sanitary District inter- ceptor sewer, and WHEREAS, said sewer upon construction would become the property of the United City of the ,Village of Yorkville, and WHEREAS, the United City of the Village of Yorkville is interested in procuring a sewer line for the benefit of the residents lying North of the Fox River in the United City of the Village of Yorkville, and WHEREAS, the City Council is also interested in procuring a water line for residents lying North of the Fox River in the United City of the Village of Yorkville, and WHEREAS, it is to the best interests of the citizens of the United City of the Village of Yorkville that both water and sewer be supplied to the residents lying North of the Fox River in the United City of the Village of Yorkville. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the United City of the Village of Yorkville proceed with all speed to construct a water line from the present Village water system across the Fox Riven up to a point where said line would intersect the center lines of Somonauk Street and West Street in the Borough of Bristol, in accordance with the engineerts plans and specifications as submitted to the United City of the Village of Yorkville on August 12, 1958. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said financing of the water main extension shall be, insofar as possible, by the issuance of Water Revenue bonds. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in view of the co- operation of the Yorkville High School Board and their plan to turn over a sewer line from the new High School to the Sanitary District interceptor sewer to the United City of the Village of Yorkville upon completion of the same; that the water hook-up for the Yorkville High School be done at no expense to the Yorkville High School and no fee charged the Yorkville High School for said hook-up. - 2 - There being no further business to come before the meeting, upon motion by Alderman Hughes, seconded by Alderman Madden, said meeting was adjourned.
