Mayor �,indett called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call the roll.
Upon the roll being taken the following aldermen were -present.

10, 1958 were read and ordered approved.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The bills were refered to the Finance committee to be paid if found correct.
The police report for the month of April was read and orderd approved.
The report on the Streets and alleys for the month of April was read and
ordered approved.
The re-port on the ?,,later Bepartment for the month April was read and ordered
Approved.
Mayor Windett nominated C. Robert Ohse as City Attorney to be paid a retainer
of $20.00 per month olus the privilege of billing the city for ex#ra legal
services performed. On motion by Alderman Handles, seconded by Alderman
Trummel the appointment was confirmed. The council and mayor voted jointly
and unanimously aye.
Mayor '°findett nonimated James E. Price for Superintendent of Streets and Alley
Superintendent of Water, and special patrolman to receive as compsnsation
for the same a s.3 :lary of 100.")0 per week. Said salary to be paid 50% from
the general fund and 50% from the water fund. In addition thereto said emp-
loyee shall be entitled to a 2 week vacation with pay and credited with 1
day sick leave per month accumulative up to and not exceeding l't days.
Upon motion by Alderman Hayden, seconded by Alderman Handles the appoint-
ment was confirmed. The council and mayor v(bted jointly and unanimously aye.
Mayor 9indett nominated Franklin Martyn Sr. for chief of police at .the sal-
ary of $3600 per year pluss 450.00 per month for night watch man duty plus
$900.00 per year police car expense. Said salary And expenses to be paid at
the rate of $350.00 per month and ' 75.00 per month expenses. He shall be
entitled to 2 weeks paid vacation per year and credited for 1 day sick leave
per month accumulative up to and not exceeding 14 days. Upon motion by Alder-
man Hadden, seconded by Alderman Mitchell the appointment was confirmed. The
council and mayor voted jointly and unanimously aye.
Mayor Windett nominated Robert Smith as building Inspector to serve at the
pleasure of the council and to be paid a minimun of $15.00 per building
application with authority to hire deputies when necessary. The deputies
shall receive minimun compinsation of 35.00 per inspection. Upon motion by
Alderman Michell, seconded by Alderman Handles the appointment was confirmed.

Mayor Windett nominated `'ess Dunkle as patrolman at the salary of .:x1.75 ner
hour police salary plus police car expense 41.00 per day and night watchman
$200.00 and $1.00 per day car expense. Alderman Hayden, seconded by Alderman
Trummel the appointment was confirmed. The mayor and the council voted jointly
and unanimously aye.
Mayor Windett nominated Charles E. Baird to the office of city collector. He
shall kKKx and have approved by the board a bond with corporat assurity to be
approved by the board, said bond to be in the amount of $3000.00. Upon motion

Upon motion by Alderman Mitchell seconded by alderman hayden that all appo;_nted
city officials whose bond has not heretofore been fixed shall file and have
approved a 'P'100.00 bond.

absent-Alderman Hughes.
Carried and so ordered.
A general discussion was had on the Mable Frisie property and the addition to
her garage. It was turned over- to the committee for recomendations.
A discussion was had on the comming cencus and the bringing op the maps up to
date to aid the cencus takers.
Alderman Randles the introduced he folloti-ring resolution : Be it resolved that
the Farmers State Bank of Yorkville , Illinois and the Yorkville National Bank of
Yorkville , Illinois be depositories for the city funds .
Alderman Trunmel moved and Alderman Hayden seconded that the foregoing resolution

A discussion was had regarding renumbering and adding arterial streets for both
Borroughs of the United City .
'Qereupon the folloiling resolutions were adopted :
Upon motion of Hayden seconded by Mitchell the following were unamously adopted .
Resolution : toUhereas , for Aotor Fuel Tax purposes the arterial streets for both
Borroughs should be renumbered so as to avoid duplication .
Now therefor be it resolved , that the previous atreet numbering for arterial
streets for both of Borrough of Yorkville and the -borrough of Bristo = be and the
same are hereby abononed and voided .
Upon motion by i'Tadden seconded by dandles the follo ing resolution was unamorrn _sly
adopted .
Resolution : ? hereas the Board desires to add the two arterial streets to the
motor s __el Tax system , and designate the same as arterial street numbers 19 and 20 ,
Now therefore be it resolved_ that Walnut and Fremont streets be and the same are
hereby designated as arterial strees numbers 19 and 20 .
Upon motion by Trummel seconded by Mitchell the foll- owing r , - solution was umanously
adopted .
Resolution : 11hereas , the old street numbering system of arterial streets for the
borrou.gh of Yorkville and Bristol has by resolution been abononed and vacated .
11"?ow therefore be it resolved , that the atterail streets for the United City- of the
`pillage of Yorkville be and the same one hereby desggnated as follows :

A general discussion was had on the Breese rezonn-ing . On motion of Alderman Hayden
seconded by Alderman Madden that an ordinance changing the land from redidental
to business , Upon roll being taken the following Aldermen voted aye : Madden , Trummel
Hayden and Titichell . 1''Jayes- Randles , absent Hughes . arried and so ordered .
Upon motion of Alderman „ itchell seconded by Hayden that C . 16obert 6hse is to handle
and act for the United City in the pending Breese zonning law suit . Upon roll being
taken all voted aye , arried and so Bordered .
A general discussion was had on accepting the loan from the Federal Government for
extension of grater mains . Upon motion of Rlderman Randles seconded b Alderman

aldermen voted aye . Carried .

The Clerk Estimate for expenses for the Fisical year 1958 was presented and a
general discussion was had . Upon motion of Alderman Handles seconded by Alderman
Mitchell and all a.dlermen voting aye it was accepted .
There being no futhur business the _meeting was adjourned .
