ILLINOIS, ON THURSDAY JArgJAF?.Y 9, 1958 AT 8;00 P.M.
Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call the roll
Upon the roll being taken the following Aldermen were present:

Absent- Delbert Trummell
Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen held December 12
1957 were read and ordered approved.
The Clerk then read the bills as follows:

The mayor referred the bills to the Finance committee; the same to be paid if
found correct.
The Police report for the month of January was read and ordered approved;
The reoort on streets and Alleys and water department was read and ordered
approved.
The Division of Accounting notified the United City that they will ,join the
Motor Fuel Tax accounts as of the first of January.
A general discussion was held on a special census Bor incrasing the Motor Fuel
Tax allotments.
The Building and Zonning committee recommended a monthly report from the Building
inspector.
An ordinance establishing office of `'ity Collector was presented and read in
full by the Clerk. After discussion being had upon motion of alderman Mitchell
Seconded by Alderman Randles that the ordinance be adopted. Upon roll being
taken the following Aldermen voted Aye: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Hayden, and
Mitchell, Nayes: None, Carried and so ordered. Alderman Trummell absent.
Discussion was had regarding salary of City Collector and the bond to be re-
quired of him. Where upon the following resolution was prsented: Resolved:
Be it resolved that the salary of the City Collector shall be and the same is
here by estableshed at $ 15.00 per month.
Furthur resolved that the said city collector shall and have approved by the
board a bond with corporate assurity to be approved by the board, said bond
to be in the amount of $ 3000.00.
Upon motion of Alderman Hughes seconded by alderman Madden was adopted. Upon
roll being taken the following Alde men voted Aye: Hughes, madden, handles,
Hayden and Mitchell. Nayes: None, Absent Trummell.
Charles E. Ba_;rd was nominated to the office of k'ity Collector by Mayor Windett
with termination April 30th. Upon roll being taken the following Aldermen voted
Aye: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Hayden and Mitchel. Nayes: None. Absent Trummel.
Carried and so ordered.
There being no furthur business the meeting was adjourned.
